The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

De Bruyne

De Bruyne Man City £10.8m mid (14 games 5 goals 8 assists) FPL point 12.5 mins. 7/14  50% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has some set piece responsibility

Getting the top gameweek point score is always going to get attention and thats whats happened with KDB after his goal and 2 assists for Man City over the hapless Sunderland team.  Great returns, good consistency, good set piece responsibility.  Only Ozil has better creating chances stats.  Only shadow is lack of shooting stats but does get forward as 5 goals can testify to

Dann

Scott Dann Crystal Palace CB £5.7m (C Palace 18 games 5 clean sheets 16 goals conceded.  FFG defence rank:7th)

Excellent attacking CB with 3 goals and an assist this season.  Is an injury doubt for the GW19 game against Swansea.  Alot more expensive than the cheapest Palace defender in the £4.4m RB Ward.  Good fixture to buy though home to Swansea which I’ve ranked the 3rd most likely clean sheet.  Fixtures are a bit mixed going forward and he’s quite pricey as a rotation defender.

Kane

Kane Spurs £9.8m fwd (18 games 11 goals 0 assists) FPL point 17.5 mins. 7/18  39% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has pens

A penalty he earned himself and a goal from an impossible angle earned him a 13 point haul.  Good fixtures coming up and good underlying stats.  Depending on how you want to cut the stats he’s either inconsistent as you can see above or bang in form with 10 goals in the last 9 games.

Arnautovic

Arnautovic Stoke £6.3m mid (17 games 6 goals 2 assists) FPL point 16.5 mins. 7/17  41% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has some set piece responsibility

A screamer of a goal on TV against Man Utd again is going to attract transfers.  Interestingly he has added goals to his game scoring more goals this season so far than in the last 2 seasons and over 4,000 minutes.  Doesn’t really have much in the way of underlying stats.  Certainly over the season thats the case,  although the recnt stats have shown improvement.  Has got 5 of his 7 returns at home.  Stoke are quite a defensive focused side and the games coming up apart from Norwich could be easier

Ighalo

Ighalo Watford £6.2m  fwd (18 games 13 goals 5 assists) FPL point 12.3 mins. 12/18  67% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

In a season where the word “incredible” is thrown around like sweets from the chocolate box at Christmas I can justifiably throw around the word incredible without any restraint.  13 goals and FPL points per minute returns and consistency ratings that are “incredible” for the price.  And by the way this is no fluke.  Only Aguero has shooting stats to match Ighalo and you would argue that Ighalo’s are better over recent games played.  Fixtures are the only question.  He failed to score against Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd although tore apart Liverpool.  Spurs is a tricky game to transfer in against

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek in order

Vardy

Vardy Leicester £7.6m  fwd (18 games 15 goals 4 assists) FPL point 12.6 mins. 16/18  89% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

It’s either a case of the fickleness of FPL managers or the great choice at the forward position at the moment that has seen those stats above  ditched at the first blank in 16 games and an injury doubt for “illness”.  My selling price is £7.0m so it will be a pricey loss if buying back for most I imagine.  Was sold last gameweek by 2 of the top 10 FPL managers I follow interestingly

Man City (H)
Bournemouth (H)
Spurs (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Stoke (H)
Liverpool (H)

Mata

Mata Man Utd £8.4m  mid (18 games 4 goals 3 assists) FPL point 18.6 mins. 6/18  33% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

A performance like Man Utd’s against Stoke, no returns in 6 games for Mata and stats like those above are never going to win you friends and a mass of sales is no surprise.  While sometimes the fickleness of some FPL managers surprises me, even I have to be surprised at how patient alot of people have been with Mata. May have a point to prove against his old club is about the best reason to hold.  Certainly there’s no underlying stats of any description to point to an improvement.  Immediate fixtures could be worse

Chelsea (H)
Swansea (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (H)

Bolasie

The Crystal Palace midfielder is out for a month with injury.  Hard to have any justification to hold

Smalling

Smalling Man Utd CB £6.8m (Man Utd 18 games 9 clean sheets 16 goals conceded.  FFG defence rank:3rd)

Man Utd’s recent defensive form has been horrible with 2 goals conceded in each of the last 3 games.  What makes it worse is that they certainly weren’t the 3 best attacking sides in Bournemouth, Norwich and Stoke that this occured against.  With 2 being televised live and the other in Norwich with goals of the highest comedy value faith in the Man Utd defence is never going to hold.  However they still have got more clean sheets than anyone over the season and only Palace and Spurs have conceded less goals so it’s not a total disaster.  The problem with “Mike” Smalling is his price.  You want to have more confidence in the FPL’s most expensive defender.

Andre Ayew

Ayew Swansea £6.9m  mid (18 games 6 goals 2 assists) FPL point 18.3 mins. 6/18  33% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

No returns in the last 5 games in a team thats only scored 2 goals in those last 5 games is never going to win you any popularity contests.  Add to that no premier league history to fall back on and absolutely no sign of any underlying shooting or creating chances stats and there’s only 1 thing thats going to result.  Fixtures don’t really help either
