Diego Costa

Scored in his last 2 games and 3 goals and an assist in his last 4.  However bonus wise he either seems to need to get 2 returns eg a goal and an assist or see his team concede to have a chance.  That is a frustration and with Hazard usually so consistent and possibly explosive at home often makes Hazard a better captain option.  However his ownership makes him a risky player not to own as he himself is consistent and does have a hat trick in him as well.  Very good all round underlying stats including creating chances despite his lack of assists.

Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)

Aguero

The top player in the league bar none.  Only question at the moment is timing and fitness.  Do you get him now with 2 difficult fixtures and questionable match fitness or do you wait until those games are over.  The best shooting stats of any striker but hasn’t really been creating chances.  The best returns per minute and no one is more consistent.  Has pens.

Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)
Liverpool (A)

Kane

The man with the best points in the last 4 is in red hot form with 4 goals and 3 assists in his last 4 and 3 returning games.  Also has very high ownership among active players and therefore is a risky player not to own.  No real underlying stats and mixed fixtures to come.

Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Ham (H)
QPR (A)

Pelle

After a long stretch of tricky fixtures Southampton now have a good run at last.  Only 1 assist in his last 4 but faced Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd in that 4.  Did prove early in the season that he can consistently return and the fixtures now give him the platform to do so.  Has very good underlying shooting stats, even in the tricky fixtures, it’s just the ball isn’t going into the net at the moment.

Newcastle (A)
Swansea (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Liverpool (H)
West Brom (A)

Rooney

After looking like he could still return even from midfield it’s now 3 games without a return.  However given supposed issues of Falcao with LVG and RVPs injury and form then it’s still possible he could return as a striker.  The fixtures certainly would be good for him if he does and this is about whether you want to take that risk with QPR, Leicester and Burnley in the next 4.  No shooting stats but that’s not unusual.

QPR (A)
Leicester (H)
West Ham (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)

Austin

Been fantastic this season and is the highest point scoring striker.  While 1 goal in his last 3 may not be the end of the world, the emergence of Kane and some tricky fixtures coming up are the reason why he has been transferred out.  Ok if not fantastic shooting stats and has pens.

Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Hull (A)
Spurs (H)

Giroud

3 goals and no assists in his last 5 since started after injury.  Hasn’t really been that consistent or in that great form but does have the ability as history has shown and the shooting stats are pretty good.  With Sanchez in most teams and other striking options he’s hard to fit in.  Very mixed fixtures and the next 3 are especially tricky.

Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Spurs (A)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)

Ings

Took a while to adjust to the premier league but like his former strike partner Charlie Austin Ings has adjusted and it’s now 2 goals in his last 2 games and 3 consecutive returing games.  Not really much at all in the way of underlying stats.  Good short term fixtures and in the mix for pens.

Crystal Palace (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Brom (H)
Man Utd (A)
Chelsea (A)
Swansea (H)

Carroll

Unplayable against Swansea in GW15 with 2 goals and an assist he’s been disappointing since with 2 goals in 6 starts afterwards and that is the Carroll conundrum.  Pretty good shooting stats.  Mixed fixtures.

Hull (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Berahino

Started the season well and then went through a really barren patch but has returned with 2 goals in his last 2 games.  Whether new manager Pulis’ defensive emphasis will reduce his threat remains to be seen.  Nothing in the way of shooting stats except they have picked up in the last 4 games.  Some good fixtures though and the recent upturn in form gives him a platform.  Also has pens.

Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)
Sunderland (A)
Southampton (H)
