It was a week like no other for the top 10 FPL managers and probably for alot of us. Before I tell you some basics remember these FPL managers have never finished outside the top 10k in the last 3 years. So here goes, 4 of the 10 managers didn’t get a single goal, assist or clean sheet. Between the 10 of them there were only 11 goals, assists or clean sheets in total. Thats how tough it was. The week started with the mass ditching of Arsenals assets and the complete faith in Aguero to save the season

If you haven’t seen this before then , this article includes the scores of the top 10 FPL managers as well as the team selection points. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. The 10 managers have never finished outside the top 10k in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine. Also the managers I have picked have been consistent showing they can adapt to different seasons.

I’ll give the FPL managers stats, their GW21 scores and then outline their teams and structure. The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 1,464
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
4. 5 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100
GW21 average score and rank
The average score of the managers in GW21 was 29 compared to the average of 35. Thats 6 points and 17% below the average. The high score of the 10 was 37. The low score was 22. A high spread of 15 for such a low average. 8 had red arrows and 2 had green
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers didn’t move that much at 374k from 331k the last gameweek. . The best rank is 34k and the lowest 979k.
If you’re interested my score was one of my worst ever at 23 and joined the 4 without a goal, assist or clean sheet. That saw a slight drop in rank to 705k from 593k . I amazingly still remain ahead of 3 of the top 10 managers.

The average team value dropped slightly to £105.7 from £105.9

Simpson is in 5/10 of the FPL managers teams
Butland Wollscheid Hennessey and Kolarov are in 4/10 FPL managers teams

C Palace GK/Defs are in 14 of the 10 FPL managers teams (I’ve counted both Hennessey and McCarthy)
Liverpool GK/Defs are in 9 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Stoke GK/Defs are in 8/10 FPL managers teams
Spurs defenders are in 7/10 of the FPL managers teams
Man City and Leicester are in 5 of the FPL managers teams
WBA and Arsenal defenders/GKs are in 4 of the FPL managers teams
Midfielders
Mahrez is in 10/10 FPL managers teams
Ozil is in 9/10 FPL managers teams
De Bruyne is in 8/10 FPL managers teams
Alli is in 7/10 FPL managers teams
Westwood is in 3/10 FPL managers teams

Lukaku and Aguero are in 10/10 FPL managers teams

Aguero was captain of 10/10 of the FPL managers teams
Hits
2 of the managers too hits. One took a 8 point hit another took a 4 point hit
How many have used their wildcard/chips
No one has used their 2nd wildcard as yet. 6 of the 10 has used their all out attack chip.
Transfers
Transfers out
Bellerin and Ramsey were transferred out 3 times
Giroud, Vardy and Coutinho were transferred out twice
No one else was transferred out more than once
Transfers in
Aguero was transferred in 5 times
Alli was transferred in 4 times
Payet was transferred in 2 time
No one else was transferred in more than once
Formation
9 of 10 used 3-4-3
1 used 3-5-2
Team structure
Typically the GK was a cheap GK with McCarthy/Hennessey as a reserve although 4 now are using an elite GK of DeGea and LLoris
In the main 2 or 3 defenders from the group of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs were in the team. A couple have now followed my lead of 4
The amount of teams with a proper 5th mid has increased to over half with the transfer in of Alli
The strikers are virtually all Aguero, Lukaku and Kane.
More and more players over £6.0m are outside the teams of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs.
Focus on 1 managers team
I do feel a little bad in showing it but here’s the manager who had the lowest score this week. Its a pretty template team and most of them have small variations of this.
A combined top 10 FPL managers team
Here’s a combined top 10 team. You can see it’s not very different than the team above. I’ve made the value more in line with the top managers average and it’s just under £106m. Kolarov would probably be my sacrifice point to get it lower
