fantasy premier league gameweek 26 tips – analysing 10 top FPL managers

Fantasy Premier League

Another difficult week with 7 of the 10 managers suffering a red arrow.

Ok so here’s our fantasy premier league gameweek 26 tips article. If you haven’t seen this before then , this article includes the scores of the top 10 FPL managers as well as the team selection points. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. The 10 managers have never finished outside the top 10k in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine. Also the managers I have picked have been consistent showing they can adapt to different seasons.

The 10 managers FPL stats

I’ll give the FPL managers stats, their GW25 scores and then outline their teams and structure. The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible.

1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 1,464

2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)

3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000

4. 5 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100

GW25 average score and rank

The average score of the managers in GW25 was 61 compared to the average of 55. The high score of the 10 was 74. The low score was 45. A big spread of 29.  7 had red arrows 3 had green

The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers took a small leap backwards to 277k from 255k in the last gameweek. An decrease of 22k. The best rank is 28k and the lowest 639k.

If you’re interested my score was another ordinary one.  Not thanks to Mahrez going but Walker and Mert losing their places at 60.  A  decrease in the rank to 554k from 509k. A decrease of rank of 45k. I remain ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers. My team value is a disaster though at £102.2m

The average team value

The average team value of the FPL managers remained at £105.7m

Lukaku was transferred out 6 of his owners.

No one else was transferred out more than once

No one else was transferred in more than once

The most common transfers

There were 15 transfers in total

2 transfers were done on the Wednesday 3 February

2 on  Thursday 4th February

5 Friday 5th

6 Saturday 6th

Formation

9 used 3-4-3

1 used 3-5-2

Team structure

Typically the GK was a cheap GK with McCarthy/Hennessey as a reserve although 3 now are using an elite GK of DeGea and LLoris

In the main 2 or 3 defenders from the group of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs were in the team. No one is using 4 like myself.

The pressure of getting Aguero in has significantly reduced the amount of proper 5th mids. 7/10 now have a 5th mid under £5.0m

Lukaku bring sold has mixed up the strikers

More and more players over £6.0m are outside the teams of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs.

Focus on 2 managers team

So we focus this week on the top scorer vs the bottom scorer when it was such a big difference.  Here they are top first

So interestingly quite different teams.

Kane, Aguero, Payet, Alli, Mahrez and an Everton defender plus a Crystal Palace def/GK are the only similarities.

5 of the 8 attackeers are the same but virtually all the defence are different.  The 3 different attackers are Firmino, Barkley and Giroud which made a 14 point difference.  The defence made a 15 point difference which shows the influence it can have.

An overall team to represent the top 10 managers

I’ve gone for a 5 man midfield which means it’s a little expensive at £107m
