As I said above there’s a table where I’ve ranked the players but there’s a load of stats to help you make your own decision.  There’s also a key below the table to explain the stats and then some narrative  on the player plus the next 6 fixtures.  I haven’t specifically factored in double gameweek 28 as an additional ranking plus but just taken into account the fixtures overall.

Aguero

After a bit of a slow start when coming back from injury now back to his dangerous best.  3 goals and 3 assists in his last 4 games show the form.  He’s also top of the consistency rank and 2nd in minutes per point and % of 10+ point hauls.  Also has pens and very good fixtures upcoming.  Also owned by all the higher ranking managers.  An essential for me

Liverpool (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)

Giroud

In the 6 games since coming back from injury he’s got 3 goals and 2 assists and seems a far more consistent returner than last year.  Obviously it helps to have the creative midfield he does behind him.  Very good underlying shooting and creating chances stats as well.  Good fixtures coming up

Everton (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (H)
Burnley (A)

Kane

The striking sensation of the season.  An incredible 7 goals and 3 assists in his last 7 games.  Has been incredibly consistent since he came into the team as well.  No underlying stats for the season but has come to prominence in these in recent games.  Owned by absolutely everyone so very dangerous not to own.  Also will be the DGW28 captain favourite making an ownership case more compelling.  Has a blank in GW27 and with Spurs heavy schedule could be rotated.  Lack of form of the other Spurs strikers and a lack of football earlier in the season may mitigate that though.  Has pens when Townsend is off the field.

Gameweek 27 –
GW28  Swansea (H)
GW28  QPR (A)
Man Utd (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Costa

A blank in GW27 after 1 game coming back from suspension.  His ownership among active and leading managers has significantly reduced and without a GW28 he’s less of a risk to not own.  Has been very consistent and despite the lack of goal scoring bonus related points still has a good % of 10+ scores.  Very good underlying shooting and creating chances stats.

Gameweek 27 –
West Ham (A)
Southampton (H)
Hull (A)
Stoke (H)
QPR (A)

Cisse

May not be the most fashionable of FPL strikers but has 6 goals in 9 games.  The problem is and the reason why he has such a good per minute return is that he’s only started 5 of those 9 games.  Thats due to the fact that he’s had injuries and these are being carefully managed.  However started the last 2 so maybe he will start more consistently.  Doesn’t have any meaningful underlying stats which isn’t necessarily a problem as we see with Harry Kane but it does mean that there’s a nagging doubt that he’s overperforming and returns will tail off.  Mixed fixtures

Aston Villa (H)
Man Utd (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Sunderland (A)
Liverpool (A)

Austin

A blank in GW27 but has the big advantage of a DGW28 and being a natural transfer for those holding Defoe (assuming they already own Kane).  However form has been questionable with 3 goals and an assist in his last 8 plus the DGW28 fixtures aren’t great.  Over the season he has been a consistent returner even though the shooting stats have been good without being fantastic and he doesn’t create chances for others.  Does have pens though.  Fixtures are mixed

Gameweek 27 –
GW28 Arsenal (H)
GW28 Spurs (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)

Sakho

Another player who’s been a very consistent returner despite, like Charlie Austin, only having good rather than fantastic shooting stats and no creating chances stats.  With Carroll out for the season should be a safe starter.  1 goal in his last 3 since coming back from injury is a little light but as I said consistency has been good so far this season which helps overlook short dips.  Mixed fixtures

Crystal Palace (H)
Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)
Leicester (A)
Stoke (H)

Defoe

After 2 goals and an assist in his first 3 games and home games against QPR and WBA to follow alot was expected of the proven Premier League goal scorer.  However 2 blanks have disappointed alot of FPL managers.  Shooting stats haven’t been that great either which doesn’t help the holding case.  Fixtures are good though

Man Utd (A)
Hull (A)
Aston Villa (H)
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (H)
Crystal Palace (H)

Sturridge

You maybe suprised at the low ranking and thats purely on the stats which speak for themselves.  However lets not forget what a quality player this guy is and he doesn’t need Suarez to display that quality.  Will improve once totally fit but you’re buying him on that quality rather than proven numbers at the moment.  Mixed fixtures

Man City (H)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)
Arsenal (A)
Newcastle (H)

Ings

Form is excellent and overall stats and consistency good considering he had a natural adjustment period after coming from the Championship.  No underlying stats which isn’t necessarily a problem.  However fixtures are terrible.  Does have pens

Swansea (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (H)
Arsenal (H)
