FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GAMEWEEK 29 REVIEW – SATURDAYS GAMES
WBA 3 ARSENAL 1
Here’s the pass and position map plus the shot map from the excellent site 11tegen11
WBA Pass Map
Arsenal pass map
Sanchez
1 goal. 77 mins. played as an LAM. Despite the goal a fairly quiet game by his standards. Left the pitch at 77 mins with quite a serious ankle injury by all accounts
Chadli
1 assist. 89 mins. RAM. Chadli involved alot in the attacking and supplied the corner for 1 of Dawsons goals. Created alot of chances. Owners should be optimistic on form
Rondon
Blanked. 53 mins. Played as a striker. Had 1 clear header which he should have scored. Subbed for HRK who did score. Owners should be pessimistic on form
Defences
Arsenal were just plain terrible on defence. Not only on set pieces but the amount of chances WBA had. WBA should be pleased with their defensive performance apart from the goal when Sanchez was left alone
CRYSTAL PALACE 1 WATFORD 0
C Palace pass map
Benteke
Blanked 90 mins. Very quiet. Owners can only be pessimistic about this for his form
Zaha
Blanked. 90 mins. LAM. Was very lively and although always looks more of an assist threat than a goal threat due to a wide position. Here he should really have scored with a close in chance. Owners should be optimistic on form.
Deeney
Blanked. 90 mins. Striker. Great header for the own goal. Really did next to nothing and owners can only pessimistic after that performance
Defences
Palace defended well. Watford also didn’t look that bad defensively though and only Zaha was a threat
EVERTON 4 HULL 0
Everton pass map
Lukaku
2 goals and 1 assist. 90 mins. CF. What is their left to say? He may have benefited from the sending off and a suicidal back pass but it was another ruthless finishing performance.
Barkley
Blanked 90 mins. CAM. Stayed close to Lukaku and created chances but little goal threat. Disappointing that in 4 goals he didn’t contribute but still owners shouldn’t be pessimistic
Defences
Everton defended well and although Hull had their chances the clean sheet was warranted. Hull were affected by the sending off and were in the game until it happened so owners shouldn’t be too pessimistic. Lukaku’s 2 goals were in stoppage time
STOKE 1 CHELSEA 2
Costa
Blanked. 90 mins. Had a reasonable number of chances and was unlucky as he hit the bar from close in. Owners should be optimistic on form.
Pedro
Blanked. 90 mins. Had a number of chances and was unlucky not to score when 1 on 1 with GK Grant. Also created a reasonable number of chances for others. Owners should be optimistic on form
Arnautovic
Blanked. 90 mins. A relatively quiet game. Shouldn’t be judged on performance against Chelsea
Defences
Chelsea again defended well. Stoke were under constant defensive pressure
SUNDERLAND 0 BURNLEY 0
Defoe
Blanked. 90 mins. Did nothing. Hard to be positive after this performance
Gray
Blanked. 90 mins. Created alot of chances but no goal threat. Hard to be optimistic.
Barnes
Blanked 90 mins. Seems to have become the substitution magnet instead of Gray which was surprising as he was the best goal threat. Should have scored with 1 golden chance close in. Owners should be optimistic on form.
Defences
A game with a decent amount of chances and both teams could have conceded.
WEST HAM 2 LEICESTER 3
West Ham pass map
Carroll
1 assist. 90 mins. How he didn’t score is beyond me. Produced 2 worldie saves from Schmeichel from a header and a shot from very close in when it looked impossible not to score. Good assist heading back for Ayew. Created chances all over the place. Owners should be optimistic for the future
Antonio
1 assist 90 mins. Injury scare after the game which needs monitoring. Played as a support striker for all intents and purposes. Got the assist via a foul for the Lanzini free kick. Another all round good performance from a goal threat and assist point of view. Owners should remain optimistic on form
Lanzini
1 goal. 90 mins. Played a little deep for me and the main goal threat came from direct free kicks. Created a few chances for others. Owners view depends on whether you want a player who relies on set pieces and shots from range to earn points
Vardy
1 goal 1 assist 75 mins. The goal came from a goalmouth scramble tap in type situation. Should have scored again when 1 on 1 with the GK via a Mahrez through ball. Owners should be optimistic but these were his only chances.
Mahrez
1 goal. 86 mins. RAM. Goal was a cross type shot from the right. Apart from the goal though didn’t have or create many chances. However owners should be cautiously optimistic
Defences
Both sides defences won’t look back with pride but Leicester were especially vulnerable.
BOURNEMOUTH 2 SWANSEA 0
Bournemouth and Swansea pass maps
Afobe
1 goal 1 assist. 90 mins. Good goal threat and unlucky not to have 2 when first goal adjudged to be off target so therefore an OG. Owners should be optimistic on form
King
1 assist. 90 mins. Played as a striker. Reasonable goal threat and created chances. Assist came from a neat through ball to Afobe to get 1 on 1 with the GK. Was unlucky not to score when Fabianski saved from a very good close range header. Owners should be optimistic
Fraser
Blanked. 74 mins. RAM. Played very advanced. Limited goal threat and disappointing assist threat. For the price though owners should remain optimistic on form
Llorente
Blanked 82 mins. Did nothing. Hard for owners to be optimistic after this
Sigurdsson
Blanked 90 mins. Was a goal threat and continually got into the box. Disappointing assist threat but owners should remain optimistic on form
Defences
For 2 basket case defences both defended ok.
