fantasy premier league gameweek 30 tips – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league gameweek 30 tips article where we outline the bandwagons and sinking ships so far in gameweek 30.  These are the 5 most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek.  Just a reminder that these are purely driven by stats from the FPL site and not my view of them.  I’ve also changed the format with a table of stats for easy comparison followed by the ususal narrative and next 6 fixtures

So the new format sees a table of stats for easy reference of the various players with narrative and the next 6 fixtures below the table.  The table also has a key to understand the headings.  Some of the stats don’t really work for defenders and vice versa for the attacking players which is why you’ll see some blank areas in the table.  I’ve not included Arsenal as yet as having a blank or DGW.  That will be clear after tonights FA Cup replay against Hull.

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Daniels

The Bournemouth LB is the only defender with penalty duties but has also shown his attacking intent with 5 assists.  It’s just whether the clean sheet potential of Bournemouth (or rather the lack of it) is worth it.  Has pretty good underlying creaing chances stats

Swansea (H)
Spurs (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (H)

Kane

The Spurs striker scored a great goal against  Arsenal.   No doubt assisted by Dembeles presence in the centre circle at the time.  The season stats look a little rough due to his slow start but he’s been in great form recently.  Great fixture next and has pen duties. Very good season and recent shooting stats show that this season is no fluke

Aston Villa (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
West Brom (H)

Bellerin

2 assists against Spurs is a reward for continual attacking intent although interestingly doesn’t show up in the top creating chances stats for defenders.  Monreal actually is better..  The problem with Arsenal is the potential blank gameweek in GW30 if they win their replay on Tuesday against Hull in the FA Cup

West Brom (H)
Everton (A)
Watford (H)
West Ham (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Sunderland (A)

Van Dijk

After 6 consecutive clean sheets it has been 3 consecutive blanks rescued by his goal in the last minute against Sunderland.  A good attacking option in a strong defensive team.  However doesn’t show up in the shooting/heading stats for defenders.

Stoke (A)
Liverpool (H)
Leicester (A)
Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)
Aston Villa (A)

Aguero

Difficult to believe that there was anyone who hadn’t transferred him in for the Villa game.  The best shooting stats of any player in the league.  Has been inconsistent given the cost this year but now in fantastic form

Norwich (A)
Man Utd (H)
Bournemouth (A)
West Brom (H)
Chelsea (A)
Stoke (H)

The Sinking Ships

Fonte

The Southampton CB was sent off and banned for 1 match in the Sunderland game.  Unfortunately with Southampton out of the FA Cup it will mean no game for Fonte in GW30 which given the number of blanks is about the worst possible timing.  Part of a strong defensive team though.  Has slightly better attacking shooting/heading stats than his CB partner Van Dijk.

Stoke (A)
Liverpool (H)
Leicester (A)
Newcastle (H)
Everton (A)
Aston Villa (A)

Cech

The Arsenal GK is out with a calf injury until around GW32.  Given that Arsenal could have no game in GW30 if they beat Hull in the FA Cup tonight that may not be as bad as it sounds.  Been an outstanding GK this season and 2nd only on points and bonus points to Stokes Jack Butland.  £4.7m Ospina will be his replacement

West Brom (H)
Everton (A)
Watford (H)
West Ham (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Sunderland (A)

Barkley

The Everton CAM has been a very inconsistent returner and his recent returns have also been poor.  Pretty ordinary underlying stats over the season and in recent games also doesn’t give much hope that things should change.  Add to that a blank GW30 and you’ve got a nailed on recipe for sales.  After this week though will have 2 postponed games for double gameweek potential.  Fixtures could be better too.

Gameweek 30 –
Arsenal (H)
Man Utd (A)
Watford (A)
Southampton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Costa

The Chelsea forward had a tough start in the Mourinho part of the season but since then has been on fire and is one of the form players in the premier league. That has been no fluke either as we’ve seen him post some excellent recent underlying shooting stats.  However no GW30 is a natural time to sell.  An injury doubt doesn’t seem serious

Gameweek 30 –
West Ham (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Bournemouth (A)

Ighalo

The Watford striker season stats are good however his recent returns have fallen off a cliff.  Having seen alot of games it’s hard to believe he hasn’t scored in recent matches given the chances that have fallen his way.  That has been brought out in good recent underlying shooting stats.  However given that Watford have no GW30 game then this becomes a natural selling point.

Gameweek 30 –
Stoke (H)
Arsenal (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
