fantasy premier league gameweek 31 best forwards – “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s our fantasy premier league “ones to watch” for the best forwards in FPL for DGW31.   There’s a table of stats plus some narrative on the players prospects as well as the upcoming 6 fixtures to help you decide on your transfers.

As I said above there’s a table where I’ve ranked the players but there’s a load of stats to help you make your own decision.  There’s also a key below the table to explain the stats and then some narrative  on the player plus the next 6 fixtures.  As you will know there are a number of teams with blanks in GW33 and Chelsea and Leicester have a DGW34 plus Arsenal and Sunderland in DGW37.  That and the others aren’t specifically taken into account in the rankings they are treated as additional fixtures.  Also with the international break and games in flow injuries need monitoring over the period.

Kane

It really is hard to know where this fantastic season will end.  After a hat trick in GW30 against Leicester he scores within a minute or so of coming on for his England debut.  Heads every stat table except form where Giroud pips him by 3 FPL points.  Interestingly only recently has had any shooting stats but that really doesn’t seem to make a difference.  Should take pens and has exceptionally good short term fixtures .  Owned by everyone who has an active FPL team

Burnley (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
Southampton (A)
Man City (H)
Stoke (A)

Costa

Come back after his suspension and hit a little run of form with 2 goals and an assist in his last 2 games.  Still has to navigate 2 games without 2 bookings but looks fairly essential for the Chelsea DGW34 after that.  Didn’t play in the international break due to a hamstring which needs monitoring but the general tone was that he would be alright.

Stoke (H)
QPR (A)
Man Utd (H)
Arsenal (A)
Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Aguero

If there was ever a case of has everything except form then this is it.  Great stats including fixtures except form.  3 games without a return when the games involve Leicester, Burnley and a WBA team with 10 men for near on 90 minutes is a disaster in Aguero land.  If you were to put a positive spin then you would say that he was very unlucky in all the games and his shooting stats are still excellent.  You would also remind everyone that prior to those 3 blanks he got 4 assists and 3 goals in 5 games.  However this is about a class player and if he can turn it around with good fixtures continuing.  His ownership among leading and active players after this week will be interesting thats for sure.  Has pens and neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
West Ham (H)
Aston Villa (H)
Spurs (A)
QPR (H)

Giroud

The form striker of the moment with 6 goals and an assist in his last 5 games.  He returned in all of those 5 games.  He’s also added consistency to his game this season as well and his consistency stats are up there with Aguero and Kane.  Has a blank GW33 and a DGW37

Liverpool (H)
Burnley (A)
– Gameweek 33 –
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Swansea (H)

Benteke

A man reborn since Sherwood became manager and it’s 3 goals and an assist in his last 3. The season before has been pretty woeful although Lamberts defensive tactics didn’t help.  Does have a DGW31 and a blank GW33.  Also has pens.

DGW31 Man Utd (A)
DGW31 QPR (H)
Spurs (A)

Man City (A)
Everton (H)
West Ham (H)

Rooney

Restored to his rightful position as striker it’s now 3 goals in his last 4 games (and a missed pen) which are the sort of stats you would expect from a proven premier league goal scorer. The fixtures could be better is the only negative.  RVP is also on the horizon but hard to think Rooney will be changed given the form shown.  Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Aston Villa (H)
Man City (H)
Chelsea (A)
Everton (A)
West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Berahino

This is about some very good immediate  fixtures and some good recent form with 2 goals in his last 4.  He also has pens.  Neutral on GW33 and DGW34/37

QPR (H)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Liverpool (H)
Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)

Murray

Alan Pardew’s attacking approach has revitalised Palace and their attacking options.  Murray was a natural goal scorer in the Championship and 4 goals in and an assist in 4 games has really benefited.  Fixtures could be better.  Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Man City (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Brom (H)
Hull (H)
Chelsea (A)
Man Utd (H)

Sakho

This is about early season form and some good fixtures coming up.  Recent form has been pretty ordinary with 1 goal in his last 4 games.  Pretty good shooting stats though gives some hope for the games coming up.  Neutral on GW33 and DGW34/37

Leicester (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
QPR (A)
Burnley (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Austin

Has a double gameweek 31 which is a major attraction but recent form (although he’s been unlucky in my view) has been pretty ordinary with 1 assist in his last 3 games.  The fixtures after the double aren’t that attractive and neither is the blank in GW33.  He is a short term play for DGW31 though.

DGW31 West Brom (A)
DGW31 Aston Villa (A)

West Ham (H)
Liverpool (A)
