fantasy premier league gameweek 31 – the Huddersfield options

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s Huddersfield Town pundit, season ticket holder and regular contributor to the site Matthew Brown with his FPL assessment of the options.  Huddersfield with a home game v Crystal Palace are an important part of the fantasy premier league  gameweek 31 landscape

Defensive options

The Huddersfield defence has generally held up quite well against teams outside of the top 6 and so the next 3 games offer a good short term punt at relatively low cost. For certainty of selection then one of Schindler, Zanka and Lossl are the best bets and given there’s not much difference attacking wise then I’d suggest Zanka as the slightly cheaper option.

However one that has flown under the radar is Hadergjonaj and his attacking instincts could offer managers more than just a great scrabble score. The Swiss international has become an integral focal point of our attack in recent weeks and he’s already provided the 3rd most crosses at the club for the season in only 10 starts. At the same price as Zanka (4.5) but far more likely to weigh in with assists he’s the one I’d be looking at.

Midfield Options

There’s only really two here who are likely to play all games and contribute going forwards; Mooy and Pritchard. The latter looks a threat playing just behind the striker and seems to have struck up a good relationship with Mounie ahead of him, ignore his early withdrawal against Swansea which was all down to his short stature in a game that was clearly going to be all about physicality once Ayew was sent off for the Swans.

Mooy’s form took an extreme dip in January but just before his injury he looked to have found some form again. On his return he looked a bit rusty against Swansea, but he still pulls all the strings and takes all the set pieces so if Huddersfield play well it usually means Mooy is playing well.

Forward Options

After rotating between Mounié and Depoitre all season Wagner is now firmly sticking with the Frenchman Mounié. Recently voted Huddersfield’s player of the month he’s won over the fans and looked very dangerous when he gets the service. His strength is in the air, where only Morata, Kane and Aguero have scored more headers but the Terriers problem has been finding his head consistently. Quaner is a bargain price in FPL but it’s touch and go as to whether he gets one of the wide spots, he’ll always get minutes however even if on the bench as he seems to have become Wagners go-to game changing option.
