At the end of comments on players I’ve added a comment either optimistic or pessimistic based on that performance. It is just that performance and doesn’t take into account on going fixtures etc

Burnley 0 Man Utd 2

Here’s the lineups from the site football-lineups

and the shot map plus XG also from 11 tegen 11. The shots and XG (expected goals) are from the team attacks perspective over the stats. The higher the XG the better

Barnes

Blanked.  74 mins.  Played as a support striker.  Did nothing.  Can’t be judged on this game.

Gray

Blanked.  90 mins.  CF.  Did nothing.  Can’t be judged on this game.

Martial

1 goal.  1 assist.  79 minutes.  Played as the CF despite the lineup graphic.  Great goal on the counter attack with a neat finish close in.  Didn’t have that many opportunities or create that many chances but made the most of the few that came his way.  Optimistic

Rooney

1 goal.  90 minutes.  Played on the left side despite the lineup graphic. The goal was a bit of a scramble in the box.  Had other chances and really should have had a pen after being fouled by Barton.  Optimistic

Pogba

Blanked.  89 mins.  CM.  Too deep for an FPL player.  Reduced to shots from outside of the box.  Pessimistic

Defences

Burnley never really had a sniff.  Man Utd defended very well.  Burnley did ok defensively.

Liverpool 1 Crystal Palace 2

Coutinho

1 goal.  90 mins.  Great direct  free kick goal.  Was fantastic on a 1 man mission to win the game.  Unfortunately that meant alot of shooting from anywhere he had the ball.  Overall he was unlucky not to get another.  Should have had a pen when fouled but stayed on his feet.  Optimistic

Firmino

Blanked.  90 mins.  Little goal threat although did create chances for others.  Pessimistic

Origi

Blanked.  90 mins.  Did very little.  Pessimistic

Benteke

2 goals.  87 mins.  2 very good close in finishes.  Had a load of other chances too.  A great performance.  Optimistic.

Zaha

Blanked.  77 mins.  Did absolutely nothing.  Pessimistic

Townsend

Blanked.  90 mins.  Did absolutely nothing.  Pessimistic

Defences

In truth Liverpool should have won this comfortably but when you give up clear cut chances like this then you’re going to lose.
