fantasy premier league gameweek 38 – 6 players you should own if you’re leading

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s a quick look at some of the players for fantasy premier league gameweek 38 that you should own if you’re leading

fantasy premier league gameweek 38 – 6 players you should own if you’re leading

If you’re leading your mini league and what to protect the lead you have then the obvious thing to do is to check the teams that could threaten you’re lead and look to block them off by transferring in those players.  If it’s that simple then you’re lucky.  Below are a number of players who have high ownerships, good fixtures and generally something to play for who could hurt you in the general sense should they score.  Some maybe incredibly obvious and you’ve owned them for some time but I’m covering all bases here.  However some aren’t so obvious and are the subject of transfers in this week so may not be visible in teams below you now.  Remember if the people playing aren’t bothered about their ranking then hits could be the order of the day in a last ditch attempt to catch you.  I’m making a big assumption that the premier league isn’t won before GW38 by the way

1.  Suarez (home to Newcastle – 49.8% ownership)

Seriously if you don’t own him then I’m amazed you’re leading anything (unless you sold him for DGW37).  Anyway you definitely need to transfer him in thats for sure.    He will be the overwhelming captain choice as well.  With Liverpoool chasing goal difference potentially if they win at Palace tonight against a Newcastle team in free fall who have nothing to play for then any score is possible.  Lets not forget his ability to post big scores, he’s had 13 FPL 10 plus point hauls.  Assume if you’re opponent doesn’t own him then he will by the time GW38 opens especially if you don’t.

2.  YYT (home to West Ham – 40% ownership)

With City going for the title they will be going all guns blazing.  YYT has been driving them forward.   When Aguero is off the field he will have pens as well.  He could also replicate his advanced position when Aguero went off against Everton if that happens again.  At the moment he’s second in transfers in to Dzeko so if the chasing pack doesn’t own him a decent proportion could by the time GW38 opens.  28 FPL points in his last 5 games isn’t that scary but its incredible 54 in his last 5 home games

3.  Sturridge (home to Newcastle – 21% ownership)

Alot of the ownership is historical but he starts in the Palace game tonight and you can bet that he will be starting against the hapless Newcastle in GW38.  Only 1 goal in his last 5 starts and 3 goals and an assist  in his last games shows mixed form.  He’s certainly not as explosive as Suarez with only 4 10 point plus hauls but definitely has the potential to rack up a reasonable score and will probably not be playing in your chasers team at the moment.

4.  Hazard (away to Cardiff – 20.9% ownership)

I suspect if Liverpool and Man City win meaning Chelsea can’t win the title or finish 2nd then there’s a  good possibility that Hazard won’t start.  However any scenario where they can go 2nd or win then I suspect he will.  His form is a little patchy with 14 FPL points in his last 5 games and only 1 goal.  However he is the master of the big score against lower ranked opponents with 8 FPL 10 plus point hauls.  Cardiff don’t even know what a bus is for let alone have any concept of parking it to keep the score down.  Only Fulham have a worse home defence and only Fulham and West Ham have conceded 3 goals at home more than the 5 times that Cardiff have.  At the moment he’s the 6th highest transfer in and could do damage if Chelsea have something to play for

5.  Aguero (home to West Ham – 17.9% ownership)

Fitness needs to be monitored.  Luckily probably one of the most visible people to block as I suspect his ownsership has peaked.  Unless he has a big scoring effort against Villa then that should continue.  Still even with his limited minutes (he’s only averaged 49 minutes in the last 5 games) he’s deadly.  Over the season he’s had 7 FPL 10 point plus hauls which is excellent considering his injury issues. In reasonable form at home with 32 points in his last 5 home games but only 24 in his last 5 games overall.  Deadly though and always capable of a big score.  Has pen duties.

6.  Dzeko (home to West Ham- 15.7% ownership)

The most transferred in player so far in the gameweek.  With Rooney potentially a target to be transferred out he’s a natural target.  Pellegrini keeps playing 2 strikers and Dzekos form makes him a cert to start.  25 points in his last 5 games isn’t spectacular but 3 goals in his last 2 games are.  Wont be very visible  due to the transfer activity this week.

Thats it.  Hope it gave you some food for thought
