Here’s a few thoughts giving 5 players if you’re chasing down a leader in your mini league

Obviously the first thing to do is to check which of the Liverpool and Man City players the leaders don’t have.  That may give you an idea on who to bring in of players with something to play for.  However, here are a few players with low ownership which have seen little transfer in activity so far this week who maybe able to help you if you’re chasing.  Remember they are gambles and low ownership for a reason.

Adebayor (home to Villa 4.9% ownership)

Hasn’t really been in the greatest of form with 22 points in his last 5 games and only 1 assist in his last 4.  However he’s up against a safe Villa who are bound to have their foot off the pedal for their last game of the premier league season.  Villa haven’t been the worst side away from home but they are definitely subject to the odd thrashing.  They’ve conceded 2 goals or more on 9 occasions away from home this season.  They’ve also recently conceded 4 at Swansea and 4 at Man Utd.

RVP (away to Southampton 14.7 % ownership)

Alot of this ownership will be managers who are no longer playing and therefore the ownership doesn’t reflect active FPL managers.  Only had 1 sub appearance in the game Sunderland since coming back from injury.  2 goals and an assist and 21 points in his 5 games before being injured isn’t anything to write home about but overall his season stats wise hasn’t been too bad.  United are a far better team away from home than at home as well.  RVP should return to pen duties and could also have some set piece involvement.  Southamptons recent home form has been good defensively.  However Chelsea and Liverpool scored 3 their and Arsenal 2 so they are vulnerable against the better sides.  United’s home form has been poor but away from home they are one of the better sides

Silva (home to West Ham 6.1% ownership)

The gamble on Silva is not so much the form.  He has been in good form with 2 goals and 2 assists and 33 points in his last 5 starts.  The gamble is on gametime.  He’s been carrying an ankle injury for sometime and only played 17 minutes against Everton.  Whether he starts may depend on his gametime tonight at home to Villa.  West Ham, who have nothing to play for,   recent away defence hasn’t been too bad.  They’ve conceded 9 goals in the last 6 away games.  They’re sure to park the bus against City.  However City have the best home attack in the league scoring 57 goals at a rate of 3.35 goals per game.  They’ve also scored 4 goals or more on 8 occasions in 17 games.

Wickham (home to Swansea 4.1% ownership)

May seem a bit bizzare after  he’s just had a DGW but in great form with 44 FPL points made up of 5 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games.  Also, a great way of generating cash for a midfielder also if you are willing to take a hit.  Swansea are now safe and have been in poor form defensively away from home conceding 14 goals in their last 6 away games.

Schurrle (away to Cardiff 1.8% ownership)

Really hasn’t been in great form with no returns incredibly in his last 6 games.  Also like any Chelsea midfielder has gametime risk.  Schurrle however has shown that ability on a couple of occasions to score big away from home with his 20 FPL points at Fulham and 15 points at Stoke.  He’s a quality player who has the potential to pull it out of the bag at anytime.

Only Fulham have conceded more goals at home than now relegated Cardiff and this game will perfectly suit Chelseas counter attack.
