- Cisse starts for Newcastle. £4.4m Cheapie mid Abeid makes first start with Tiote injured.
- Balotelli starts for Liverpool. Lallana on bench
- Newcastle cope well with poor Liverpool attack
- Sterling very ineffective
- Cisse probably best Newcastle attacker with maybe Sissoko

- Hazard and Oscar the most effective attacking players for Chelsea. Both score. Hazard pen
- Costa ineffective and tended to drift from the centre
- Fabregas returns continues withan assist. However little shot threat but continues to create chances and get assists
- Good performance from Austin with a goal
