fantasy premier league gameweek review – GW6 – Saturdays games

Liverpool 1 Everton 1

  • Despite not returning Sterling was the star and unlucky not to return.  Played mainly on the left though.  Possibly only as Hibbert started as a possible weak link.
  • Liverpool defended well and unlucky to concede to a wonder goal
  • Everton another poor defensive performance conceding many chances.
  • Balotelli mixed day missing one great chance.

Chelsea 3 Villa 0

  • Costa magnificent again with a goal
  • The midfield part timers of Oscar and Willian were excellent with a goal apiece.  Shame about rotation
  • Chelsea defence excellent
  • Villa second consecutive 3 goal loss
  • Hazard disappointing no return again in home match against a lower placed team.  Unlike last time this time there was little shooting or chance creation.
  • Ivanovic keeps showing his forward intent

Man Utd 2 West Ham 1

  • Game distorted by Rooney 2nd half sending off
  • Rooney scored and the sent off and now a 3 match suspension.  Interestingly despite playing behind RVP and Falcao, Rooneys average position was higher than both
  • Di Maria had good attacking threat despite not returning
  • Downing again central and advanced.  Created chances but little shot threat
  • Sakho now scored in 2 consecutive games and returned in 3.  At £5.5m he looks another cheapie potentially
  • RVP and Falcao both returned but neither made much impression in the game.

West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Southampton 2 QPR 1

  • Pelle scored and Tadic came away with an assist and were the stars of the show with great performances
  • Despite the goal against another good defensive performance from Southampton
  • Schneiderlin quiet although had 1 great chance to score.
  • £6.9m Mane made a great start with an assist and lively performance.  Shame about the price
  • £5.8m Austin now 2 goals in 5 games
  • £5.0m Krancjar hits the post with late direct free kick

  • 2nd consecutive clean sheet for Sunderland with an excellent defensive performance.
  • Wickham missed excellent chance to score and had a few chances

Arsenal 1 Spurs 1

  • Ramsey subbed off with hamstring injury.  No return date as yet
  • £4.4m Naughton gets the nod at RB over Dier.  Could be a bargain if he can hold his place
  • Chadli played virtually as a support striker and scored with 1 of 2 excellent chances
  • Welbeck struggled to finish chances including an air shot for the Ox goal
  • Ozil predominantly played on the flank.
