Here is what I think the potential lineups will be given the current information.  I would rather have done this on Friday when the press conferences will happen but given the Friday night deadline for GW1 it’s not feasible to be trying to write it up then.  What it does mean is that you will still need to check your lineups against the press conferences of the managers.

As opposed to the last lineup article where I put the lineups in code I’ve taken a screenshot of the image as the code seemed to cause problems for some.

It is an incredibly laborious task going through the pre-season fixtures and the injury information to come up with a lineup and it’s obviously impossible to get it 100% right.  Please be patient and if you have any information to add please put it in the comments column.

Where I don’t think the position is certain I’ve included more than one player and under neath the image tried to outline the main injuries and significant issues

Arsenal

Monreal and Koalsinac definitely look out and Ramsey is still an unknown but likely to be ok.

The front 3 looks an issue as there are 4 possibilities.  I suspect Lacazette will lose out but it could be Mkhitaryan who loses out with the disaster scenario of Aubameyang moving left.

Bournemouth

Stanislas is ruled out and Ake is a doubt.

I’m amazed I could narrow the team down to this level given Howe’s propensity to rotate.  Daniels will probably lose his place when 3 match suspended Rico is available.

Brighton

Izquierdo and Jahanbakhsh look doubtful.  Murray has some doubts but expected to be fine.

Duffy and Dunk look favourites for the CB spot

Burnley

Wood looks a doubt and Vokes could easily step in.  Lennon, Ward, Heaton all look doubts and there seems no chance for Brady.

Cardiff

Only Danny Ward appears to be an injury doubt.  He could potentially take one of the AM spots.

Chelsea

Hazard and Kante will come into the side at some stage for Husdon-Odoi and Barkley respectively.  Courtois looks like a transfer risk with Jack Butland rumoured to be coming in.  Giroud will also come back at some stage to compete with Morata.

C Palace

Only the GK position looks uncertain for GW1.  I would expect Benteke to start over Sorloth.

Everton

Pickford will come in for Stekelenburg it’s just whether it’s GW1 or 2.  Holgate is injured with no return date.

If Silva goes 4-3-3 I imagine Walcott would be the one to miss out rather than Sigurdsson.

Fulham

Mawson won’t be fit for a few weeks to challenge Ream or Odoi

Huddersfield

The Huddersfield lineup makes the Bournemouth lineup look easy.  In attack I can only see Pritchard and Mounie starting with any certainty.  This should be the defence though although Hadergjonaj has played a few different positions in pre-season.

  1. If Hudds play 4231 then Id expect Diakhaby, Pritchard and Sobhi to be tHe 3 behind the striker. Strong possibility that we’ll play 352 though…

  2. Geek, what do you make of David Silva’s chances given he missed the Shield game I remain skeptical of bernardo silva’s staying power given that sane occupies his position as well and pep has said he may do a 3-5-2 again..

    • I can’t believe he won’t still be heavily involved and rotated out of the cups. the natural lineup is 4-1-4-1 with De Bruyne and Silva as CMs even 3-5-2 could be the same. I just remain nervous because of Peps words on D Silva and how Bernardo could replace him. I do see Bernardo as short term though but it’s an easier price to live with cheers

  3. Is Jorginho a definite to start? Allows me to start Shaw over Wan-Bissaka or De Gea over Patricio, but means I lose Jota.

    Team is currently:

    Patricio
    Robertson Davies Mendy Shaw
    Salah Mane Sane Jorginho
    Zaha Aguero
