Well that fantasy premier league day 1couldn’t have gone any worse! 7 points and 242 out of 263 places in the fantasy football geek league. However, all was not lost and there were some notable successes of the players in the “Im considering them list” now to be known as “ones to watch” or abbreviated as “12w” . So I hope visitors to the site got some positives. Most notably the 2 biggest scorers of the day Michu and Petric were recommended in the 12w list
Here’s a very brief reaction to todays fantasy premier league events
Arsenal were surprisingly held to a nil nil draw by injury ridden Sunderland. 12w cheapie cuellar did play and got poimts for anyone brave enough to put him in the lineup
Fulham pummelled Norwich with 12w recommended Petric getting 2 goals and an assist and 12w defender hangeland getting a clean sheet. I made the inspired last minute decision to switch Gorkss for Hughes
Swansea also pummelled QPR (second season syndrome biting hard already!) with 12w michu getting 2 goals and an assist. Unfortunately I made the inspired decision to get my swansea coverage from 12w graham. 12w cisse flopped along with the rest of the QPR team. Cheapie 12w britton lined up but predictably had no part in the goals. 12w Cheapie nelsen was benched in favour of Clint hill.
Reading and stoke played out a score draw. 12w cheapies Guthrie and Gorkks both played but made little contribution and le Fondre scored despite me recommending Pog. 12w stoke Cheapie Whitehead got sent off.
WBA soundly beat liverpool a game that had no 12w representation and the WBA squad made a mockery of me saying they were overvalued
Paul Lambert made no attacking impact and 12w recommened NZog and Bent got no returns together with 12w noble. 12w cheapie Demel played and got a clean sheet although obviously he was on my bench! 12w cheapie stevens was surprisingly on the bench in favour of baker which came from nowhere in pre-season
In Newcastle Spurs 12w recommended Bale and VDV gave no returns with VDV surprisingly benched for Lennon. 12w Defoe scored and 12w cheapie Marveaux started
