fantasy premier league GW10 tips – The alternative FFGeek Teams

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s where we look at the alternative FFGeek teams.  One is a bookies odds based team and the other a shots on target based team. Both had tricky weeks this week but the Bookies team still has a wildcard and the shots on target team has been on an upward trajectory until this week

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW10 TIPS– THE ALTERNATE FFGEEK TEAMS

THE BOOKIES TEAM

This is a team based on the anytime goal scoring odds of the bookies. It replaces the attacking player with the worst anytime goalscoring odds for the player with the best anytime goalscoring odds for the next game with no other factors taken into account. It does work within a basic team structure though and only 1 attacking player per premier league team.  That’s causing some issues with Lallana blocking the 3 attacking Liverpool mids until the WC is used

GW9 points: 29 overall rank: 118,176 team value: £100.0

Here’s how they fared last week:

A disappointing week made worse by 2 players in teams that got clean sheets in Swansea and Chelsea having unselected players.   Only  1 returning attacking player though with the transfer in of Redmond the week before a big success. This team still has a wildcard

Here’s how it line’s up this week:

2 transfers.  Chelsea CB Terry out due to selection problems for Watford LWB Holebas who at £2.20 for a clean sheet home to Hull was great value.  Palace AM Townsend was the other transfer.  He was £4.00 anytime goal scoring odds at home to Liverpool.  In came £2.40 ATGS odds Stokes AM Arnautovic at home to Swansea.  There was £7.5m to spend on the midfielder and his odds were better than Shaqiri, Antonio, Allen Sigurdsson and Lamela.

THE SHOTS ON TARGET TEAM

This is a team based on the Shots on Target underlying stat. This is widely thought to be the most accurate predictor of goals. The team transfer policy is to replace the attacking player with the worst Shots on Target stats for the player with the best Shots on Target stats with no other factors taken into account. Again only 1 attacking player per team. This disadvantage is that it takes a while for the data to build up to a reasonable sample size

So not a disastrous result but not a great one.  Things are steadily improving with better data

I had 2 transfers to carry over but with little change in the shots on target season rankings there was no transfer to make in the attacking front.  Mata and McLean had sneaked ahead of Son but I was unsure if either would start in GW10 so just left it.  I made a GK change to get Middlesborough GK Valdes in.  This was just to use the transfer and improve the clean sheet prospects
