Here’s the full version of our regular feature where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers who in the last 3 seasons where none have finished outside the top 10k. A very good week for the top 10 managers with 9/10 getting green arrows and beating the average score significantly. The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK SUMMARY
A very good week for the top 10 FPL managers. 9 of the 10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW10 was 82 compared to the average of 58. Thats 24 points and 41% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 94. The low score was 66. A relatively high spread of 28 even for a high scoring gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers is 267k compared to 398k last week. An improvement in rank of 131k. The best rank is 7k and the lowest 1.30m. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that is 89k.
The average value is high at £103.3m up from £102.8 last week.
If you’re interested my score was 90. A good score really after a poor week last week. Only 2 of the managers had a higher gameweek score. My overall rank is now 95k compared to 240k last week. An improvement of rank of 45k. I’m ahead of 5 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low though in comparison at £102.4m although well up on £101.5 last week. My total score is 547 points.

Here’s a comparison with the how the top 10k overall rank average team looks like. The information is provided by the excellent site FPL discovery.
The top 10k average score was 69 compared to the Top FPL managers of 82. As you will see below, that was achieved in no small part through the faith in Sanchez and Aguero
What it does show is that the top 10 fpl managers I follow have big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank. Here are the main ones:

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him. At present he is in 35k position an improvement of rank of 55k position with 566 points after a score of 89 this gameweek. He made 2 transfers after rolling 1 over last week. Fletcher in for Walcott and Firmino in for Snodgrass. Interesting. I thought he would go for Coutinho definitely.

Lowest scoring team
This is the manager with the lowest scoring team of 66 who is ranked 318k
A large part was having Mane instead of Firmino and Coutinho and not having Lukaku. Clyne instead of Lovren didn’t help and neither did not having Holebas

Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. Those highlighted are where it’s different to my team. It’s valued at around £103.8m so a little above the top 10 managers average. The highlighted players are the changes to my team to achieve it which as you can see are very little although it is £1.4m out of reach so I would have to sacrifice Coutinho.
