fantasy premier league GW12 – the early bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW12 article to show our view on the early bandwagons and sinking ships. Thats the 5 most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  This will help you to take a view on any early transfers you maybe thinking of.  Remember though it’s a 2 week International break before GW12 though so there’s heightened injury risk of transferring early

The Bandwagons

That is the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Wanyama

Surprising to see a cheapie midfielder top of the transfers in?  3 goals and an assist is not a bad record for a cheap midfielder.  Yet to get a yellow card as well which is impressive.  Whether you think he’s good enough to be a regular midfielder in your line up is another question.  Even as a cheap rotation is still another question.  Also the fixture’s are about to turn for the worse for Southampton.  No shooting or creating chances stats to speak of.

Next 6 fixtures:

Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Everton (H)

Sanchez

6 goals and 1 assist in his last 4 games after his goal at Swansea.  In incredible form playing virtually as Welbecks strike partner.  Fantastic shooting and creating chances stats as well.  Fixtures are a bit mixed

Next 6 fixtures:

Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)
Liverpool (A)

Aguero

I’m just amazed his ownership is only 26%.  Showed how lethal he is against QPR with 2 goals.  Takes it to 12 goals in the 11 gameweeks so far and 4 goals in his last 4.  The best shooting stats of any forward.  Seems to be holding his fitness as well with 9 consecutive starts.  6 of them for the full 90 minutes.  The more reliant City become on him the more likely he is to start.  City could also go out of the Champions League which would be a massive boost  (unless you’re a City fan of course) for his premier league gametime.  Also has pens.  Fixtures are irrelevant.  He scores against anyone.  A one man captain option.  Getting injured over the International break is the only risk

Next 6 fixtures:

Swansea (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (A)
Everton (H)
Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Austin

Another in the long line of budget strikers.  Really gave the Kompany less City defence the run around with a goal and 2 disallowed in GW11.  That made it 4 goals and an assist in his last 4 games.  Good shooting stats as well over the course of the season to show it’s no fluke.  Good fixtures

Next 6 fixtures:

Newcastle (A)
Leicester (H)
Swansea (A)
Burnley (H)
Everton (A)
West Brom (H)

Chadli

Just keeps on scoring.  6 goals and an assist for the season and scored in both the last 2 games.  No one has better underlying shooting stats as a midfielder although ironically they have dropped off in the last 4 games.  Going against Spurs’ very poor form though which is never a good sign.  Mixed fixtures in the next 3 although the last 3 of the 6 are better

Hull (A)
Everton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (A)
Burnley (H)

The Sinking Ships

The 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Sterling

Not scored in 6 games although did get 3 assists in that time.  Shunted out on the flanks and just doesn’t look like the threat he was earlier on the season.  After having the best underlying shooting and creating chances stats of any midfielder they have totally fallen off a cliff in the last 4 games.  Thats no surprise for anyone watching him.  Still has some good fixtures in front of him

Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke (H)
Leicester (A)
Sunderland (H)
Man Utd (A)
Arsenal (H)

Di Maria

1 assist in his last 3 games after 3 goals and 3 assists in the 4 before then it’s no surprise that he’s been sold.   Also words from LVG about having to get the balance right between attack and defence etc etc and a pretty inspid attacking performance at the weekend against one of the premier leagues worst defences all add up to sales.  However the reverse is that his shooting and creating chances stats haven’t dropped off in the last 4 games.  Also after the Arsenal game in GW12 he has 2 excellent home fixtures so a risky time to sell

Arsenal (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (H)
Southampton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Dier

Lost his place when Naughton returned so it’s ironic he’s being sold just when Naughton has been suspended after being sent off to the 3rd of December.  However given it’s 1 clean sheet in the last 9 games you wonder if thats relevant at all even if he did win his place back.

Hull (A)
Everton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (A)
Burnley (H)

Pelle

Interesting one this.  2 assists in his last 3 games isn’t the end of the world thats for sure although given the fixtures and his form you would have expected better.  There has been no dropping off of his underlying shooting and creating chances stats and if you saw the games you would have known how unlucky he’s been.  He is an option to sell  after GW12 when the fixtures turn but selling before that seems a little hasty

Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Everton (H)

Ivanovic

No attacking returns since GW3, a ticking over of yellow cards and less clean sheets than Swansea, Newcastle, Villa, Burnley and WBA.  £7.2m doesn’t buy what it used to.  On the plus side 2 last minute goals conceded against United and Palace robbed them of likely clean sheets and a cruel deflection against Liverpool.  Their underlying defensive stats suggest it will turn around and Ivanovic has done everything except get attacking returns.  Still it’s a lot of money for hope especially when Baines at a similar price is ripping up trees.  Selling before WBA at home though I’m definitely not sure about.

West Brom (H)
Sunderland (A)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
