FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW15 TIPS – ANALYSING 10 TOP FPL MANAGERS

Here’s our regular feature where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers who in the last 3 seasons  none have finished outside the top 10k. The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.  This week was a great week with 8 of the 10 having green arrows.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW15 TIPS – ANALYSING 10 TOP FPL MANAGERS

GAMEWEEK SUMMARY

A good week for the top 10 FPL managers. 8 of the 10 had green arrows.

The average score of the managers in GW14 was 76 compared to the average of 50. Thats 26 points and 52% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 97. The low score was 52. An expected high spread of 45 for a high scoring gameweek.

The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers took a big leap forward to 220k compared to the last gameweek of 323k. An improvement of rank of 103k. The best rank is 1,400 and the lowest 778k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that is 89k compared to 180k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 91k. At the moment 6 have overall ranks inside 100k. 1 is inside the top 10k.

The average value is up significantly from last week at £104.3m from £103.5m last gameweek.

If you’re interested my score was again terrible at  55.  Only 1 of the managers had a lower gameweek score. My overall rank is now 329k compared to 228k last gameweek. A worsening of rank of 101k. I’m still ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low though in comparison at £103.3m up from £102.6m last gameweek. My total score is 726 points.

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM

Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him. At present he is in 47k overall rank a big improvement in rank from the last gameweek of 75k. His total points are 781 after a good score of 79 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.

This week he will obviously take Aguero out.  Not sure who for though

THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN GW14

Highest scoring

This manager has been struggling but this week alone moved up 200k to 92k to show that recovery can be just around the corner

Lowest scoring team

A bad week against the grain for this manager.  Last week he was 16k.  this week he’s 50k overall rank

fpl-gw15top10ampleford

There’s a 45 point difference between the 2 teams.  29 of those points have been accounted for by differences in choice of 2 players from the same team. Sanchez 23 Walcott 3 and Mane 11 Firmino 2.  Thats how brutal and how easy it is to go backward and forward.  It’s rare that you will see this points difference in teams when they’ve both picked the same captain

TOP 10 MANAGERS COMBINED TEAM

Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. Those highlighted are where it’s different to my team. It’s unaffordable at around £105m.

Want to take out Gundogan this week. Value is £5.4m and i have £4.0m ITB. I have a couple of ideas but open to suggestions.
Midfield is currently GUNDOGAN SANCHEZ ALLEN MANE MATIC

    My Team as follows:

    Pickford (Foster)
Daniels, Van Aanholt, Johnson (Holebas, McAuley)
    KDB, Firmino, Shaqiri, Redmond, Walcott
    Kane, Costa (Diomande)

    0 FTs, 3m ITB

I am thinking if KDB is worth holding, or should I take a hit to bring in Sanchez.

I think you’ve got an old version of the combined Top 10 team on there, can’t believe that Vardy would be in there!

Agreed, i was wondering that too. 60% own Sanchez yet he’s not shown had alarm bells ringing. Probably a few managers, like me, who were sitting pretty on Saturday night but much less happy after Alexis’ demolition of West Ham. Trying not to be too down as 67 is a good score but i’ve got red arrows!

So 2 of the managers decided to transfer out Aguero!
And 7 got Kane in just on time.

I guess that is why we look at their performance every week!

And yet they don’t like Costa. Maybe previous seasons’ bad experiences can work against them. Or maybe they will be proven right.

Yes, i was puzzled by the Costa no-show too but then i remembered he’s one booking away from a suspension so it makes more sense. He and Hazard gave been the bedrock of my recent rise so I’m desperately hoping they both steer clear of injury and suspensions.
