FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW16 – THE FFGEEK TEAM
THE TRANSFERS
So this week with 3 players injured I could have gone for broke with transfers and taken hits but I played it safe and just took out the injured Austin for Anichebe. The reason being is that it gives me enough money to buy Alonso next week or a decent midfielder in place of Stanislas who’s also injured. I’m on a huge slide at the moment so the last thing I want to do is a transfer of an incoming player against the best defence in the league but every other corner had risk too.
I would have liked to have put Llorente in but I couldn’t afford for him not to start as Siggy has been used as a false 9 on a number of occasions. Negredo was a sort of consideration but he has little form and is an injury doubt, He would have been a fixture only consideration. Rondon was a consideration but the problem was if I got Alonso over Mustafi I would have struggled to have more than £5.0m and no midfielder with any scoring potential would have been buyable. Wilson also had a good next fixture at home to Leicester but again didn’t really have ongoing form or fixtures.
I really wanted to put Andy Carroll in due to the next fixtures but again it’s hard to see him starting the next 2.
I just can’t afford not to have a player start. Don’t get me wrong Anichebe doesn’t come with a cast iron guarantee either but of the options at ther price only Rondon does and while he has Swansea next his next fixtures aren’t great nor indeed his recent form.
I did think about Origi and a hit for Antonio but hits are increasing the risk even more especially as Antonio is on 4 yellow cards. So Anichebe it is

TEAM SELECTION
No real decisions here with 2 players out and Holebas away to Man City and Pickford away to Chelsea the bench sorted itself out. When you are forced to start your benchwarming midfielder in Fletcher then you know it’s desperate times
