Fantasy premier league – GW16 Sunday match review

Aston Villa 0 Man Utd 3

A game where the score could have been any number to Man Utd.  The Villa defence stats were pretty horrible.  The United defensive stats weren’t that great either but they got their first away clean sheet.

The game was really notable for Rooney returning to play behind the striker and most of the time even deeper.  Welbeck cleaned up with 2 goals.  H’s not really that cheap at £7.0m but is an interesting cheaper option short term if he keeps playing.  West Ham are next and their away defence has been good except when it was under siege against Liverpool.   He still has competition from Hernandez but you would expect him to have a role in the team after today.  Welbeck had the best shooting stats by miles.  Rooney got the assist but in terms of shooting stats and creating chances was just too deep..

Januzaj started and got an assist.  Overall United look far better away than at home at the moment.

Benteke has continued with good underlying shooting and creating chances stats but no returns.  Today he just couldn’t do anything right. its now 10 games with no return.

Norwich 1 Swansea 1

Norwich had the better of the defensive stats.  The highlight was the performance again of Gary Hooper who again scored.  Its now 3 goals in 3 starts.  He’s only £6.1m and another potential cheapie striker for those wanting to tool up their midfield

Michu had another quiet game with little shooting output.  Bony only got 20 minutes or so.  Shelvy did reasonable well for no returns

Tottenham 0 Liverpool 5

There just is no stopping Luis Suarez is there?  An unbelievable 2 goals and 3 assists.  Monstered everyone else in the shooting and creating chances stats.

Sterling at £4.9m with a goal and Henderson at £5.9m with a goal and an assist are interesting cheapie midfield options with Cardiff next in the firing line.  Both were very impressive although made the most of their chances.

The Spurs defence with Chiriches and Vertonghen missing plus AVBs psychopathic insistence on a high line really meant the end for Spurs. It’s still 7 clean sheets to date.  However 6 without one.
