FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW18 REVIEW – LIVERPOOL AND SPURS MATCHES
I’m listing the players by game. Under that will be a sentence or 2 on their performance. It’s impossible to do every player so I’m just concentrating on a few key ones in each game
LIVERPOOL 4 STOKE 1
Here’s the average touch position map for both teams:
Mane
Blanked. Played in an advanced right position. Some goal and assist threat. Had 2 good chances to score and 1 good assist chance
Lallana
1 goal. Attacked from the midfield 3. Reasonable goal threat but limited assist threat
Firmino
1 goal. Played on the left but very advanced. Easily the biggest goal threat and assist threat. Was unlucky to just get 1 return and deserved the 3 bonus
Origi
1 assist. Did nothing apart from the own goal assist.
Allen
Blanked. 1 good chance but apart from that did nothing. Good to see him in a centrally advanced position though
Defences
The Liverpool defence didn’t give Stoke much of a sniff apart from a few chances.
Stoke were under constant pressure
SOUTHAMPTON 1 SPURS 4
The game was a little distorted by the sending off of Redmond after 56 minutes. That drastically changed the game
Here’s the average touch maps:
Southampton
Spurs
Eriksen
2 assists: Played fairly centrally and seems to be getting into more advanced positions and in the box more regularly than early season. Good goal threat although often from distance. Unlucky not to score when hit the bar. Huge assist threat. Has set piece responsibility
Dele Alli
2 goals. Constantly in an advanced position as you can see from the touch map further forward than Kane. Did score with virtually both chances. No assist threat.
Kane
1 goal and a missed pen. So unlucky for the missed pen due to the ground movement bobbling the ball. Did have some goal threat. No assist threat
Rodriguez
Blanked. Played again as a striker in the middle of a front 3. No goal or assist threat though. Well contained and the sending off didn’t help the situation
Defences
Hard to judge due to the sending off but generally Spurs kept Southampton quiet. Southampton gave Spurs numerous chances.
