The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

Silva

4 goals and an assist in the 4 games since coming back from injury and 3 consecutive returning games for the £9.2m Man City midfielder shows a player in good form.  The lack of a recognised striker and a CAM positioning seems to have put him into scoring positions far more than usual.  With Jovetic fit having played 29 minutes this may come to an end.  He doesn’t have a particularly strong scoring record over the years and is more of an assister but there’s no doubting his current form.  Fixtures could be alot better after the Sunderland game

Charlie Austin

A blank after 3 consecutive games of scoring and 10 goals and 3 assists in the last 11 games was a major disapointment for those FPL managers especially those who gave the £6.3m QPR forward the captains armband.  However he did have a reasonable number of chances and his shooting stats have been good so all hope is not lost after 1 blank.  He certainly has 2 good fixtures next

John Terry

2 goals in consecutive games has bought the £6.4m Chelsea CB to FPL managers attention again.  They were his first attacking stats of the season and his underlying attacking stats haven’t been as good as previous seasons.  However he’s the same price more or less as 3 of the other defenders in the Chelsea team and they definitely are the best defensive team in the league.  The  negatives are because of his age you would think he is more likey to be rested than his defensive colleagues.  Fixtures are a little mixed

Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)

Hazard

To be honest I’m shocked that the £10.5m midfielders ownership is only 27%.  I think it’s due to the high ownership of Fabregas and Costa making people wary.  The guy is a major double figure point risk everytime he steps onto the pitch at Stamford bridge.  He’s now returned a goal or assist in his last 6 home games and has 5 double figure point hauls plus two 9 pointers in his 19 games this season.  As he becomes more and more of a captain play for home games the risk in not owning him becomes higher each game.  Mixed fixtures though and surely due some rotation

Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Bertrand

Strange timing for the £5.7m Southampton LB on this one given that Southampton play Arsenal and Man Utd next.  However there’s no doubting the strength of the Southampton defence given their stats it’s just the run of fixtures have been horrible and there’s only been 1 clean sheet in the last 8.  Once those 2 fixtures are out of the way though they should return to being a viable option.  The question will be whether Bertrand is worth the £0.7m more than his defensive colleague Alderweireld

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most sold players so far in the gameweek in order

Clyne

Injured for the Chelsea game and seemingly unlikely to be involved in the Arsenal game in GW20 and Man Utd next then it’s not surprising that the £5.9m Southampton RB is being sold in numbers

Arsenal (H)
Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)

Yaya Toure

Th £10.9m CM was out with an injury for GW19 and is to be assessed for GW20.  However even if he is fit that will be his last game before going off to the Africa Cup of Nations.  Not surprising that a load of FPL managers have decided to sell now although Sunderland at home could still be a tempting fixture to hold on for even with Sunderlands impressive away defensive record.  6 goals and an assist plus pen duties and some direct free kicks are a show of the form he’s in and the danger he presents.

Sunderland (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)

Jagielka

The £5.6m Everton CB is out with an ankle injury with no return date.  Add to that no clean sheets in 9 games and only 3 clean sheets for the season plus the conceding of 31 goals.  Only QPR have conceded more goals.  It’s no surprise he’s being sold.

Hull (A)
Man City (H)
West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)

Chambers

The £5.1m Arsenal predominantly RB (but can be a CB)  defender came into the side as a bargain £4.5m when Debuchy got injured.  With Debuchy fit he has predictably  lost his place and will now seemingly rely on injuries to get back in.  Add to that statements from Wenger that he’s played too many games for his age and 2 consecutive sub appearances and transfers out are no surprise

Southampton (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Spurs (A)
Leicester (H)

Pelle

2 goals in his last 8 games and Arsenal and Man Utd next it’s no surprise we’ve seen some sales.  In fact the tricky fixtures started at GW13 and I’m surprised in some way that having held out for so long that people are selling with reasonable fixtures after that.
