Here’s the ranking table in it’s short form. Here’s the link to the google internet spreadsheet for the full stats tables with alot more info and a few more players added on

Remember it’s their rank as a transfer target for this week. This can be affected by the next fixture. So a forward who’s next game is away to Chelsea will have their ranking diminished to some degree compared to someone who’s home to Swansea.  A good example is Phillips who while in great form is away to Spurs so not the best time to buy

Comments and fixtures are for the top 10 ranked players

The columns are self explanatory. The fixt ease column shows the easiness ranking of the next 6 and 3 fixtures. Use this link to see the full fixture ease article.

At the moment there’s no Coutinho or Walcott due to their doubtful starting status for GW21

SANCHEZ

Slowed down a little bit in the last 4 games with only a goal and 2 assists but despite moving to the LAM position with striker Giroud getting back in the team Sanchez’s underlying shooting stats still look very good.  Incredibly 6 of his 12 games that have seen a goal or assist returned have been double FPL point returns.  Apart from against Chelsea those have been against lower ranked teams.  Makes him a dangerous player not to own with the following fixtures

Swansea (A)
Burnley (H)
Watford (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Southampton (A)

DELE ALLI

53 FPL points in his last 4 games says alot.  Those last 4 games have seen very good underlying shooting stats,  better than any other midfielder despite alot of negative discussion over his stats.  He’s also playing as a virtual support striker to Harry Kane.  Hard to put any negatives on it at the moment

West Brom (H)
Man City (A)
Sunderland (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
Liverpool (A)
Stoke (H)

HAZARD

Hazard has some negatives at the moment.  1 goal and 1 assist in his last 5 games as a contribution to 10 team goals isn’t anything to write home about.  You also can’t really point to the underlying stats over the season or recent ones to say that this is an aberration as well.  However this is a guy who this season has returned a goal or assist in 10 of his 19 games and a points per match of 6.3.  Both of those stats are only bettered by Sanchez so lets not forget this guy is no mug.  He also has Leicester away and more attractively Hull at home after that.  He also has penalty duties

Leicester (A)
Hull (H)
Liverpool (A)
Arsenal (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)

ERIKSEN

The Spurs midfielder is different to Alli in that he plays deeper and not as consistently central but has alot of set piece responsibility.  He’s more likely to get assists than Alli and creates far more chances but doesn’t have the pen box threat.  Which one you choose depends on what you prefer but I’ve rated Alli higher.

West Brom (H)
Man City (A)
Sunderland (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
Liverpool (A)
Stoke (H)

OZIL

The Arsenal CAM is ill but expected to be back for GW21.  Hasn’t played the last 2 and only 1 assist in his last 3 games.   He also, for him, has some pretty ordinary creating chances stats and all this does apply a negative perception to him.  Last year, for a long while,  he was Mr Consistency due to his high percentage of games that he returned a goal or assist.   This year he’s got 4 assists compared to last seasons haul of 19.  However he does offer a cheap alternative to Sanchez and also dominates set pieces plus plays in an attacking central position.  His assist potential will be improved with Giroud in the side due to his aerial ability

Swansea (A)
Burnley (H)
Watford (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Southampton (A)

STERLING

4 goals and 3 assists in the first 6 gameweeks.  He then produced nothing in the next 9 gameweeks  except 6 blanks 2 no shows and 1 yellow card.  However, he’s now played 5 games for virtually 90 minutes in each and produced a goal and 4 assists.  He still plays too wide for me and also a big rotation threat with Nolito and Navas but does seem important for Pep when in form.  No real underlying stats to rely on either.  He is good value though in a team that should score a ton of goals particularly on the counter attack where he is effective.  It’s just which Sterling will turn up.  Next couple of fixtures could be better

Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Swansea (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man Utd (H)

DE BRUYNE

The more expensive Man City option.  Set piece responsibility and the ability to create chances has kept the FPL points ticking over although you would expect someone costing £10.6m to be higher ranked in Points Per Match than 9th equal.  Does seem to switch between the flank and central positions.  However lack of goals with only 2 this season and no shooting stats to fall back on is the negative

 Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Swansea (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man Utd (H)

POGBA

Gnerally you’d want your midfielders to be in the attacking 3 positions either in 4-2-3-1 or even in the front 3 of 4-3-3.  Occaisonally you get the box to box marvels of Ramsey and YYT and now Lallana who belie their lack of shooting stats by ghosting into good forward positions especially on the counter.  Pogba doesn’t really fulfil that but his shooting from distance and Man Utd’s possession often doesn’t make that an issue.  What is interesting though is the last 5 games have seen 2 goals and 2 assists and more tellingly a vast improvement in shooting stats both on target and in the box.  He’s also pretty much guaranteed 90 minutes which is something that his colleagues in Mata and Mkhitarayan don’t have.  Some very good fixtures after Liverpool next

Liverpool (H)
Stoke (A)
Hull (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A)

STANISLAS

Hull away after a midweek EFL cup semi is always going to be a good time to trigger a transfer in and that makes Stanislas a good transfer target this week. Playing Watford and Crystal Palace at home next isn’t exactly a huge deterrent either.  For me Stanilas players a little wider and shoots a little too much from distance than I’d like a midfielder to do but he is only £5.1m so you can’t have everything.  He does though have a reasonable share of set piece responsibility and could even take pens if Wilson is off the pitch.  That is possible now that Afobe isn’t going to AFCON and will threaten Wilson’s place.

Hull (A)
Watford (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (A)
Man City (H)
West Brom (A)

RYAN FRASER

The Bournemouth winger is a cheap fixture punt with Hull, Watford and C Palace next.  Firstly, he is an injury doubt so a knock needs monitoring. Ignoring his GW1 and 2 starts, he’s scored 2 goals and an assist in his 3 recent starts following on from his GW14 goal and 2 assist sub game against Liverpool.  However, there’s no doubting his gametime risk.  Not only starts but minutes as his last 2 games finished in 67 and 72 minutes.  However given his form and the fact that he has started the last 2 then with the 3 fixtures next and the price,  you may want to gamble on him for your 5th midfield spot

Hull (A)
Watford (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (A)
Man City (H)
West Brom (A)
