FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW22 FORWARD PLAYER RANKINGS

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW22 forward player rankings article. Each player is ranked as a transfer target for GW22. There’s a table of stats plus some narrative on prospects and their next 6 fixtures

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW22 FORWARD PLAYER RANKINGS

Here’s the ranking table in it’s short form. Here’s the link to the google internet spreadsheet for the full stats tables with alot more info and a few more players added on.  I’ve added more stats including whether they take, penalties, set piece involvement and average minutes for the last 4 games.  Also I’ve added the position they will play.  Thats less relevant for forwards unless they are playing wide or as a support striker

Remember it’s their rank as a transfer target for this week. This can be affected by the next fixture. So a forward who’s next game is away to Chelsea will have their ranking diminished to some degree compared to someone who’s home to Swansea.

Comments and fixtures are for the top 10 ranked players

The columns are self explanatory. The fixt ease column shows the easiness ranking of the next 6 and 3 fixtures. Use this link to see the full fixture ease article.

There’s no Costa due to question marks over his starting role

IBRAHIMOVIC

It’s now 6 consecutive games with a goal or assist for the Man Utd forward.  It’s all backed up by excellent underlying shooting stats.  He also has been a very consistent returner, has pens and it’s pretty rare he doesn’t play 90 mins

Stoke (A)
Hull (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A)
Bournemouth (H)

KANE

The scary thing about the Kane hat trick in GW21 against WBA is that it could have been so much more.  He’s a bit unpredictable but only Giroud and Ibra have better consistency return stats.  Has pens and pretty much always plays 90 minutes

Man City (A)
Sunderland (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
Liverpool (A)
Stoke (H)
Everton (H)

GIROUD

There seems to be positive things coming out about Giroud’s injury to suggest that he will be fit for GW22.  However it definitely needs monitoring during the week.  Even fit it’s hard to guarantee he will start due to Wengers view of Sanchez as a striker ands the effect overall on the team.  4 consecutive scoring games won’t even guarantee that security.  However his scoring rate has been phenomenal this season and that’s backed up by very good underlying shooting stats.  He will score it’s just whether Wenger prefers the team with or without him.  If you’re going to gamble though Burnley at home next is a great time to do it

Burnley (H)
Watford (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Southampton (A)
Liverpool (A)

LUKAKU

It always seems to be feast or famine with Lukaku.  With 3 returning games in his last 4 we’re feasting.  However who knows when the fridge will be empty.  Were certainly going through a good spell of underlying stats and fixtures to follow to help the returns to continue.  No longer has pens but is an attacking focal point and a player who will generally play 90 minutes

Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Middlesbrough (A)
Sunderland (H)
Spurs (A)

AGUERO

Aguero wasn’t immune from the quite pitiful snails pace possession game that Man City showed in their 0-4 loss to Everton and now were seeing a drop off in the underlying shooting stats in recent games.  There’s also the rather unhelpful possibility that he’s lost penalties to Yaya Toure.  His consistency return rate has also dropped below 50% and his last 4 points return is quite pathetic.  Home to Spurs isn’t a great time to buy but the next 3 fixtures after that are good.  This is about whether you believe Guardiola has,  at the moment, made the mess of Aguero that he has of the City team as a whole.

Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Swansea (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man Utd (H)
Sunderland (A)

DEFOE

It’s a one man mission to keep Sunderland up from Defoe.  12 out of Sunderlands 20 goals have come from him.  Has pens, in great form and very consistent.  Pretty much guaranteed to play 90 minutes.  Even the underlying stats have been looking good recently not that he needs loads of chances to score.  It’s just playing for Sunderland that’s the issue.  Mixed fixtures

West Brom (A)
Spurs (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Southampton (H)
Everton (A)
Man City (H)

RONDON

He may not be the most consistent returner, have great underlying stats or have pens.  Despite the stat he will generally give you 90 minutes.  What he seems to be able to do is score against the lower ranked sides.  There are certainly a few of those coming up and if you’re going to buy him it has to be now.  It’s a fixture gamble pure and simple

Sunderland (H)
Middlesbrough (A)
Stoke (H)
West Ham (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Crystal Palace (H)

BENTEKE

How can you have a guy in the top 10 transfer targets for GW22 who hasn’t returned a goal or assist in 6 games I hear you ask?.  I’d like to say he has pens or that the underlying stats show he’s just been unlucky.  Unfortunately though I can’t.  He may also have lost pens after a few misses and his underlying stats are nothing flash.  I’m not helping am I?  This is all about fixtures which are pretty good to say the least.

Everton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Sunderland (H)
Stoke (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
West Brom (A)

CARROLL

Scorer of one of the goals of the season against Palace there’s no doubting his ability.  His underlying stats also convey a reasonably positive message.  It’s just whether he can keep fit and play 90 minutes and whether West Ham can replace the chance creation of Payet if the saga ends as it seems likely it will.  I’m a big fan of Antonio don’t get me wrong but he can’t produce 3 assists per game going forward.  Fixtures are mixed

Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Middlesbrough (A)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)

CROUCH

While I’d like to say that the transfer in of Crouch to my team and the resultant 11 points was a stroke of genius on my part, I was as surprised as anyone that his recent good form continued.  Only Giroud, Kane and Ibra have more FPL points in the last 4 games they’ve played as forwards than Crouch.  I’d like to say it’s a total fluke but to be honest the underlying stats aren’t too bad.

Watford (H)
Sunderland (A)
Man Utd (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
