FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW22 REVIEW SUNDAY

SOUTHAMPTON 3 LEICESTER 0

Southampton pass and position map:

Leicester pass and position map:

Rodriguez

1 goal: 79 mins. CF in a front 3.  Good goal threat and easy close in volley for the goal from an unintended Huth assist.  No assist threat

Tadic

1 pen.  90 mins.  LAM in a front 3.   Little goal threat.  Some assist threat. Some set pieces from the right mainly.  Was unlucky not to get an assist from a disallowed set piece goal

Redmond

Blanked.  90 mins.  RAM in a front 3.   Big goal threat and some assist threat.

Ward – Prowse

1 goal.  90 mins.  CM.  Excellent finish on the edge of the area from a Cedric cross for the goal and assist threat.  Has set pieces one of which lead to Rodriguez scoring from the melee afterwards

Vardy

Blanked.  90 mins.  Did practically nothing

Defences

Southampton defended well as Leicester were pathetic going forward.  Leicester were under siege

ARSENAL 2 BURNLEY 1

Arsenal pass and position map:

Burnley pass and position map:

Sanchez

1 pen although Giroud and Ozil were off the pitch.  90 mins.  LAM.  Big goal threat with 2 great chances, one from a set piece clearance and the other from a counter attack.   Good assist threat too and his cross earned the penalty via Koscielny.

Ozil

1 assist.  88 mins.  CAM.  Good assist threat.  Some goal threat.  Had set pieces and the assist came from a corner of his to Mustafi.

Giroud

Blanked.  86 mins.  Some goal and assist threat but nothing clear cut.

Iwobi

Blanked.  68 mins.  RM Good assist threat and played well with driving runs on the counter.  Little goal threat

Gray

1 pen.  90 mins.  Some goal threat.  Little assist threat

Barnes

1 assist.  SS.  90 mins.  Good goal threat and some assist threat.  Assist came from the penalty earned.

Defences

Arsenals defensive stats weren’t great but they did go down to 10 men.  Burnley were under siege

CHELSEA 2 HULL 0

No pass and position maps for this sorry.

Costa

1 goal.  86 mins.  A constant goal threat inside and outside the box.  Great volley forced a save early on and it was a neat finish for the goal.  Should have scored again with a late 1 on 1 with the GK that was saved.  No assist threat.

Hazard

Blanked.  70 mins.  LAM but drifted centrally and very advanced.  However it was an incredibly disappointing performance as he offered no output threat whatsoever.  Put Costa through for a 1 on 1 when he was offside marginally was the closest Hazard came to any return.  Compare his reaction to the goal cross to Costa’s.  No surprise when subbed early.  The more disturbing aspect was that Fabregas was far better which doesn’t bode well.

Pedro

Blanked.  70 mins.  RAM.  Wasn’t any better than Hazard and again no surprise when subbed.  Some set pieces.

Hernandez

Blanked.  74 mins.  The defence totally neutralised him although created a couple of chances

Defences

Both teams performed well defensively although Hull gave a couple of clear cut chances to Chelsea.  Alot of Hull threat was from range.  This was a more even contest than expected though.
