The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

Payet

Payet West Ham £7.9m LAM mid (14 games 6 goals 5 assists) FPL point 13.3 mins. 9/14 64% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has set piece responsibility

Has 3 times more transfers in than any other player so far this gameweek.  The top rated midfielder last week in my “ones to watch” article he certainly returned to the starting spot with a bang having got a fantastic free kick goal and an assist.  His stats from the assist point of view is totally no fluke given only Ozil has better creating chances stats. He is also very good at getting forward and had the highest average position of any West Ham player against Bournemouth.  The only negative is that he’s scored alot of goals for someone with pretty ordinary shooting stats.  How long he can keep up the free kick screamers and the rebounds where he’s in the right place remains to be seen.  Good fixtures to come too.

Newcastle (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (H)
Southampton (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)

Sagna

Sagna Man City £5.6m RB (20 games 0 goals 3 assists)  FPL mins per pts 19.4 (Man City 9 clean sheets and 21 goals conceded)

2 clean sheets in the last 3 means that maybe Man City have finally found a way of getting clean sheets without Vincent Kompany who now looks likely to be out for most of the season.  Sagna is certainly the value player at £5.6m compared to probably the most nailed on of Otamendi at £6.5m.  However with Zabaleta waiting in the wings and a City fighting for trophies on all fronts you will have to accept some rotation.  Good fixtures though

Crystal Palace (H)
West Ham (A)
Sunderland (A)
Leicester (H)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)

Giroud

Giroud Arsenal £9.2m fwd (21 games 12 goals 2 assists) FPL point 14.8 mins. 13/21 62% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

Very good actual and shooting stats and another 2 goals in the game against Liverpool.  The only shadow is whether he goes back to a job share arrangement with Walcott when Sanchez is fit.  Has also has had a real problem getting bonus points although got 3 here.

Stoke (A)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Leicester (H)
Man Utd (A)

Dele Alli

Alli Spurs £5.5m CAM mid (18 games 5 goals 5 assists) FPL point 16.8 mins. 8/18 44% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

Despite the blank against Leicester, his most recent run of 9 games when he became the CAM then it’s 3 goals and 2 assists in  at a consistency rate of 44% which is the same as his overall.  Unlucky against Leicester as did have his share of opportunities.  A CAM in a top 4 challenging side with reasonable fixtures to come is definitely a bargain though.  Sunderland at home next is really the time to get him if you haven’t already.   Only shadow is pretty ordinary underlying stats

Sunderland (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Norwich (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A)
Swansea (H)

Kane

Kane Spurs £9.9m  fwd (21 games 11 goals 1 assists) FPL point 18.3 mins. 8/21 38% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has pens

Overall the stats look pretty ordinary to say the least.  If you want to paint a rosy picture you start collating the stats from his GW10 hat trick against Bournemouth so he has 10 goals and 1 assist in 12 games and 58% consistency.  However, conversly, you could also say he’s got 3 goals and an assist in his last 8 at 38% consistency.  What we do know is that his season underlying shooting stats are good.  If you do have faith home to Sunderland is the time to buy and I suspect that fixture is playing a big part in transfers in.

Crystal Palace (A)
Norwich (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A)
Swansea (H)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out in order

Barkley

Barkley Everton £7.3m CAM mid (21 games 6 goals 8 assists) FPL point 16.7 mins. 8/21 38% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

1 assist in your last 4 games when you have such high ownership and your next game is away to Chelsea is going to see some sales. Although WBA scoring 2 has to show that the Chelsea defensive issues aren’t over yet.  On the positive side he does have the CAM position in a very good attacking side and a striker in Lukaku in front of him in the form of his life.  He also has Swansea and Newcastle at home after the Chelsea game and Everton are fairly lethal at home.  On the negatives he’s a very inconsistent returner and has fairly mixed underlying stats to say the least.

Chelsea (A)
Swansea (H)
Newcastle (H)
Stoke (A)
West Brom (H)
Liverpool (A)

Vardy

Vardy Leicester £7.3m fwd (21 games 15 goals 4 assists) FPL point 14.0 mins. 16/21 76% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

The stats over the season are fantastic.  Of that there is no disputing and over the season the underlying stats show that this is no fluke.  However even although he’s been unlucky blanking in a couple of games if you go 4 games without a goal or assist you’re going to see sales no matter who you are.  If the underlying stats were holding up over that period that would help but they really haven’t and he was quiet against Spurs too.  If I was still holding him whether I would sell before the game against Villa though is another question.  Things get alot harder after Stoke

Aston Villa (A)
Stoke (H)
Liverpool (H)
Man City (A)
Arsenal (A)
Norwich (H)

Coutinho

Out injured until GW24.  Should give more secure gametime in the short term to Firmino and Lallana

Arnautovic

Arnautovic Stoke £6.7m LAM mid (20 games 7 goals 4 assists) FPL point 16.1 mins. 9/20 45% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Some set piece responsibility.  Pens if Bojan off the pitch

I think it was only a couple of weeks ago he was massively on the bandwagon list.  To be fair his stats aren’t that bad for the price and his recent form of 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 isn’t bad at all.  He did get an assist in the GW21 victory against Norwich and his stats for the game were pretty good.  Possibly the makeweight for the Payet transfers in?  Cerianly the next 3 fixtures are a good time to sell

Arsenal (H)
Leicester (A)
Man Utd (A)
Everton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Aston Villa (H)

De Bruyne

De Bruyne Man City £10.8m RAM mid (17 games 5 goals 8 assists) FPL point 14.2 mins. 7/17 42% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has some set piece responsibility

Returned no goal or assist in the last 3.  Also a 42% consistency rate for the season is not what you want for such an expensive assest.  Does have the ability to score big at home though and that is the watch out for selling before the Palace home game.  Palace do have a good defence but City can on their day dismantle anyone.  Has very good creating chances stats but £10.8m for someone who will get most of his returns from set pieces and crosses in from the right is an expensive investment.

West Ham (A)
Sunderland (A)

Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
