fantasy premier League – the early GW23 bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my view of the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships for GW23 up coming.  If your’e not familiar these are the 5  most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.

The Fantasy Premier League Bandwagons

Aguero

A goal and an assist in 29 minutes of coming almost wasn;t a surprise for the only striker in fantasy premier league to come close to Suarez.  I imagine most of these people were already looking to bring Aguero in but were spooked by the fact that Pellegrini had said he wasn’t certain to start.  A must have for me and definitely a buy

Cabaye

The West Ham game was a good advert for Cabaye.  As Pardew only played 1 up front Cabaye played behind Remy.  This advanced position led to the first goal.  The 2nd came from his set piece duties.  So you have a double reason to buy.  A player with set piece duties and an advanced midfield position.  Definitely a buy.

Adam Johnson

4 goals and 2 assists and 35 fantasy premier league points in 2 games.  Was a bit lucky with his goal against Saints as Boruc had a shocker.  His basic stats in the Saints game weren’t anything to shot about but he looks dangerous every time he gets the ball and is now taking a share of set pieces.  A gamble as prior to this he had only returned a single goal and assist in 17 matches but given form and the set piece involvement looks worth it especially with one of the worst away defences turning up to Sunderland in Stoke.

Adebayor

2 excellent goals yesterday make it 5 goals and 3 assists in 6 games since returning to the team.  Interestingly all the goals have come away as Spurs are looking dangerous on the break.  Interesting that Soldado didn’t play yesterday which means Adebayor will be the lone striker if Sherwood continues that system and Adebayor could even take pen duties.  A  bargain at £7.8m as well.  Buy

Wilshere

An assist in the Fulham match followed a goal and an assist in his last 2 matches.  A bit of context though.  Before that it was a 2 goals and an assist in 15 matches and those returns came in 2 matches.  With Ramsey and Arteta back for GW23 it will be interesting to see where he fits in.  Form should mean he will keep his place though.  Personally there are other better assets in the Arsenal team and I’m unsure of whether this mini streak will last.  I have him but only as a placeholder for Ramsey.  I’m a little unconvinced

The Fantasy Premier League Sinking Ships

Negredo

These will be fantasy premier league managers who were  holding him for GW22 as they thought he was the better bet than Aguero due to the uncertainty of Aguero’s role for the Cardiff game.  Unfortunately they were punished as Negredo blanked for the first time when starting on his own ground.  Negredo is no Aguero.  Aguero is a must have and Negredo is a sell for me.

Ozil

4 games not returns and a quiet game against one of the worst defences in the league.  Personally I think its a little harsh given the consistent performances of the season so far.  His major problem is the lack of shooting which means if team mates aren’t taking the chances created then he’s going to blank.  Only Silva creates more chances for team mates.  I think he’s proved him self and I wouldn’t panic sell yet.

Barkley

Injured and back for GW25.  Despite an advanced central position in a top 4 challenging team thats scoring a lot of goals its one return in the last 13 games.  Little in the way of underlying stats to provide comfort either.  A sell for me

Lukaku

Interesting to sell someone before he’s even played?  I’m assuming this is where all the Adebayor money is coming from.  2 returns in the last 5 games and a mere assist in the Norwich game also wouldn’t have helped.  Much as I’m a fan there maybe better form  options out there and I can understand people selling.

Lallana

This will be where the Cabaye money is coming from.  I personally thought he was unlucky against Sunderland.  Played in a central advanced role and was the attacking fulcrum of the side.  Despite blanking in 2 of his last 3iIt’s still 2 goals and 3 assists in his last 6.  However I don’t think he wins in a head to head with Cabaye.  However after the Arsenal game next its Fulham away and Stoke at home.  I would hold for those 2.
