The Bandwagons

These are the most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Aguero

Continues to be heavily purchased each week as his ownership moves up to 22% despite only 7 points in his last 3 games.  However as the best returning player in the game as well as up there in consistency and captain popularity he’s a dangerous player not to own.  I take my hat off to anyone who’s brave enough not to own him home to Hull next.

Sturridge

Never has there been a better example of absence making the heart grow fonder as there has been with Liverpool missing Daniel Sturridge.  Billed as a Messiah to save their season he didn’t disappoint with a very impressive 30 minutes or so which included a goal.  Not enough gametime to make an assessement overall but remember he was scoring with or without Suarez last season.  Tricky games coming up though one way or another

Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
Southampton (A)
Man City (H)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)

Eriksen

Goals in 2 consecutive games after he scored against WBA. Add that to his 2 against Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup and you have a guy in red hot form.  The season stats shows him not to be the most consistent returner and he also has little in the way of underlying stats.  What he does have is set pieces and an ability to score from outside the box which helps counter that.  Double gameweek 28 coming up after a blank in GW27.  Tricky couple of fixtures next though

Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Ham (H)

GW28 Swansea (H)
GW28 QPR (A)
Man Utd (A)

Cazorla

Another stupendous game in the centre of midfield against Villa with a goal, 2 assists and 17 FPL points.  Has been anything but consistent over the whole season and has no underlying stats but when you’re in this red hot form (31 points in his last 2 games)  then anything is possible.  Set pieces and pens help too.  Good fixtures coming up on the whole

Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)

Kane

Many FPL managers thought maybe he could be expendable at January Wildcard time with the difficult fixtures coming up.  However the ownership among the leading FPL managers is very high and this made him a risky sell especially after he showed the best defence in the league in Chelsea absolutely no respect.  So it proved against WBA  and it was another stunning 2 goal performance.  Kane has become a consistent strong returner now and for his value he’s hard to leave out.  A DGW28 even after a blank GW27 now makes him essential in my mind

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Costa

No surprises here with 2 matches of his suspension still to go and a blank GW27 after that.  Price should drop to his starting price over this period.  Potential still for a DGW28 if Aston Villa can beat Leicester in the FA Cup (see my article last week on this)  which means you may need an entry plan as he will be a dangerous player not to have in any Chelsea DGW.

Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)
– Gameweek 27 –
West Ham (A)
Southampton (H)

Bertrand

Another 3 match suspension, another wave of selling.  Options elsewhere in the 2nd best FPL defence though in Clyne and the cheaper Alderweireld when he returns.  Hard to justify holding.

QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Liverpool (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Chelsea (A)

Siggy

Noticing a pattern here?  The third suspension related transfer outs with 2 games to go.  3 blanks before that and the loss of Bony won’t help his cause when he returns.

Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Spurs (A)
Liverpool (H)

Sanchez

As of last week he was the best returning FPL midfielder per minute, the most consistent, the highest percentage of 10+ FPL points and only 2 midfielders had more points in the last 4.  Surely the definition of essential? Also owned by a very high percentage of leading and the remaining managers to make it worse.  Wenger didn’t make the injury seem that serious which made him miss the Villa game and alot of managers held on even with the wildcards.

Spurs (A)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)

Rooney

There seems to be no escaping the midfield trap that Rooney is in.  Only 1 shot against one of the leagues worst defences in Leicester (from outside the box) and only 1 penalty box touch.  That is not the recipe for a £10.8m FPL forward

West Ham (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Newcastle (A)
Spurs (H)
