fantasy premier league GW24 tips – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Heres our fantasy premier league GW24 tips article where we outline the 5 most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek. I sometimes get some people thinking I pick these but they aren’t my picks they are merely the most transferred in and out this week.

fantasy premier league GW24 tips – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Firstly it’s worth reading my article where I mention that I’m rolling over my free transfer due to the possibility (but not guaranteed) double gameweek 25 relating to the Cap 1 final in GW27

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

Firmino

Firmino Liverpool £7.9m CAM/F9 mid (20 games 5 goals 5 assists) FPL point 13.2 mins. 5/20 25% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

Currently playing as a false 9 but has been a CAM alot of the time as well.  Great underlying stats have shown the returns are no fluke.  Even if you take off the 6 games as sub though he’s pretty hit and miss.  Could have a double gameweek 25 if their postponed GW27 game for the Cap 1 final is postponed to GW25.  It’s not a guaranteed destination though.

Leicester (A)
Sunderland (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Man City (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Alli

Alli Spurs £5.7m CAM mid (20 games 6 goals 6 assists) FPL point 16.1 mins. 9/20 45% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

The young Spurs CAM has been a revelation this season and is great value for a CAM in a top 4 challenging side.  His shooting stats over the season have been diluted when playing in the double pivot but over the last 6 games they have been fantastic which is a great vote of confidence

Norwich (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A)
Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
Arsenal (H)

Aguero

Aguero Man City £13.4m fwd (16 games 12 goals 2 assists) FPL point 12.1 mins. 7/16 44% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has pens

With 4 goals and an assist in his last 2 games he’s finally come into form after a fairly patchy start.  Has the best shooting stats by some distance so has the foundations to continue even if you can forget his undoubted world class stature

Sunderland (A)
Leicester (H)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Payet

Payet West Ham £8.1m LAM mid (16 games 6 goals 5 assists) FPL point 14.7 mins. 9/16 56% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

His GW23 performance against Man City despite no returns was nothing short of incredible and the tricks displayed were breathtaking.  I feel sorry for anyone who hasn’t seen them.  However he also has been a consistent performer.  My only concern would be that his shooting stats aren’t great and may put some doubt on his ability to keep the returns coming

Aston Villa (H)
Southampton (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Spurs (H)
Everton (A)

Sagna

Sagna Man City £5.7m RB (21 games 0 goals 3 assists) FPL mins per pts 20.1 (Man City 23 games 10 clean sheets and 23 goals conceded)

3 clean sheets in the last 5 have finally shown that Man City can keep clean sheets without Kompany although the West Ham GW23 game was hardly a vote of confidence in their defence.  Sagna now has Zabaleta fit and with Man City fighting on all fronts for trophies then he certainly will face rotation.  He is good value though compared to the rest of the defence. Otamendi at £6.5m is the most gametime secure probably.

Sunderland (A)
Leicester (H)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (H)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players in order.

Arnautovic

Arnautovic Stoke £6.5m LAM (21 games 7 goals 4 assists) FPL point 16.5 mins. 9/21 43% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

Has been carrying an injury and that may have been exacerbated in the Cap 1 semi last night.  Stats certainly aren’t that bad for the price and 1 assist in the last 3 isn’t great but certainly not a disaster.  No underlying stats though to give you an extra feeling of comfort and a wide position isn’t ideal

Man Utd (A)
Everton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)

Kolarov

Kolarov Man City £6.1m LB (19 games 2 goals 2 assists) FPL mins per pts 19.8 mins (Man City 23 games 10 clean sheets and 23 goals conceded)

Out with an injury although a possibilty he could be fit for GW24.  Will be rotated though with Clichy now fit and Man City fighting for trophies on all fronts.  As I said for Sagna Man City seem to have found a way to get clean sheets without Kompany.

Sunderland (A)
Leicester (H)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (H

Lukaku

Lukaku Everton £9.2m fwd (23 games 15 goals 5 assists) FPL point 14.4 mins. 13/23  57% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Probably has pens

Newcastle next and a possibility of a double gameweek 25 as Evertons GW27 game against Liverpool will be postponed and could be to GW25 to make way for the Cap 1 final.  It’s not the guaranteed postponement destination though.     Given this it seems an interesting time to sell.  No returns in the last 3 are probably the reason although this does happen to many plyares and is not the end of their resturns for the season.  Indeed he went 4 without a return earlier in the season before it triggered 3 goals and an assist in 2 games.  Underlying stats are good if not fantastic.

Newcastle (H)
Stoke (A)
West Brom (H)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)

De Bruyne

De Bruyne Man City £10.7m RAM mid (19 games 5 goals 9 assists) FPL point 14.8 mins. 8/19 42% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned) Has some set piece responsibility

1 assist in his last 5.  Not bad returns overall but woeful consistency for the price.  Does have good underlying creating chances stats but has to be some question over the quality of those chances given his wide right position.  Also little in the way of shooting stats.  The reasons to hold are simple though.  Sunderland next and the potential for a DGW25 if that is where the postponement goes and Man City get through the Cap 1 semi tonight.

Sunderland (A)
Leicester (H)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Barkley

Barkley Everton £7.3m CAM mid (23 games 6 goals 8 assists) FPL point 17.6 mins. 8/23 35% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)

No returns in the last 4, very inconsistent and no underlying stats on which to hope things will improve, sales are an inevitable consequence.  Does have Newcastle next and the possibilty of a double gameweek as I mentioned for Lukaku above.

Chelsea (H)
Southampton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Leicester (H)
Man Utd (A)
Swansea (H)
