The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection. It was a great week for the top 10 managers with 8 green arrows and a big average rank improvement

THE 10 MANAGERS FPL STATS
The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A great week for the top 10 FPL managers. 8 of the 10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW24 was 69 compared to the average of 51. Thats 18 points and 35% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 91. The low score was 46. A very high spread of 45 albeit in a high scoring gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw a worsening to 222k compared to the last gameweek of 271k. An improvement of rank of 49k. The best rank is around 100 and the lowest 836k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that improved to 153k compared to 189k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 46k. At the moment 4 have overall ranks inside 100k. 2 are inside the top 10k.
The average value sees a slight imrpovement to £105.1 from £104.9m in the last gameweek
If you’re interested my score was an unmitigated disaster of 45. None of the managers had a worse gameweek score. My overall rank is now 319k compared to 228k last gameweek. A worsening of rank of 91k. I’m now ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £102.0m. The same as the last gameweek. My total score is 1254 points.

The top 10k average score was 61 compared to the Top FPL managers of 69.
The top 10 fpl managers I follow have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank. Here they are:

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
A disastrous week which means even the best can get it totally wrong. At present he has a 39k overall rank, a worsening in rank of 17k from the last gameweek of 22k. His total points are 1,333 after a poor score of 47 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.

THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN GW24

A low score of 46 sees him fall to a still fantastic 12k.
This is one example of where the defence wasn’t the difference. Only 2 points. 41 points on 2 players effectively. Incredible. 30 points was Lukaku captain vs Kane captain and 11 points of Defoe over Lallana. In fact 6 of the 11 are the same and 4 of the 7 in attack.
Defence has been a long theme over differences as has been small margins on a couple of players in attack making a massive difference. Now with the spread of captains (5 this gameweek) are making the difference in scores even higher

The core players are then 7: Ibra, Lukaku, Sanchez, Phillips, Alli, Coleman and Alonso. Starting to look like more of a template
If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that only Sanchez are the essentials. To be fair Ibra, Alli and Phillips aren’t far behind
