fantasy premier league GW27 wildcard tips – the FFG imaginary wildcard

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW27 wildcard tips article where we pretend we are using our wildcard. It gives player suggestions with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW27 WILDCARD TIPS – THE FFG IMAGINARY WILDCARD

This article brings together the various earlier articles in the week.

Firstly I would say that I wouldn’t wildcard now. I would use my wildcard to maximise the points potential in the double gameweeks coming up. See my article on potential blank and double gameweeks. I will hopefully update it again after the FA Cup 5th round games next week.

This is a short article where I’m pretending I’m using my wildcard to give you player picks with more longevity than the next game. It’s short as there are few stats.

I’ve given links to articles below with all the detailed stats you’ll need if you want to investigate a player in more detail.

In this article there’s some brief narrative on the selection below. There’s stats in the player ranking articles which can be found here using the links below

There’s also our fixture ease article which gives player suggestions with good fixtures. You can also see who the popular transfers are in our bandwagons article and who the 10 top FPL managers I follow have in their team

 FFGEEK’S IMAGINARY WC TEAM

The team value is around £103m. The team has been set up to accommodate a potential blank GW31 on the basis of the free hit not being used. Stoke v Everton and Liverpool v Watford are guaranteed fixtures. I also think Huddersfield v Palace is likely

STRUCTURE

The structure in this team is flexible to some degree but will probably revolve around 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 as McArthur realistically prevents 3-5-2.

GKS

I’ve gone for Pickford despite Everton’s recent defensive woes as good save points GK plus Everton have good fixtures and a guaranteed fixture in GW31. Hennessey is the cheapest back up who rotates ok in the short term.

DEFENDERS

I’m still in a place where I think Man City are the best defensive team.  Unfortunately with 4 fit CBs and a number 10 playing LB at times I’ve focused on Walker despite a rather hefty price.

The Man Utd defence is heavily owned among FPL managers with De Gea and Jones being the 2 in most FPL squads.  I’ve gone for Jones to cover the Man Utd defence.  He was left out last week but given his performances this season I don’t think it was significant.

I’ve gone for Van Dijk for good fixtures coming up as well as a GW31 home game v Watford guaranteed.

Spurs have some good fixtures after Arsenal in GW27 so Vertonghen gets the nod here for gametime security with the FBs rotating and Alderweireld returning from injury.  Alderweirelds presence will also increase the defensive strength of the team

Lastly with Bardsley injured I’ve gone for the security of Ben Mee with Burnley now embarking on a good run of fixtures

MIDFIELD

Salah and Sterling should require no explanation.

I’ve then gone for Walcott for his FPL history, underlying stats and his start with 2 goals and an assist in his first 3 games.  Everton also have a good run of fixtures.

Gross is my cheapie pick due to good fixtures, despite some inconsistent form.  His ability to score big and pick up bonus points will hopefully see returns.

Lastly I’ve gone for McArthur as my bench warming cheapie with a prospect of gametime in GW31.

FORWARDS

Kane should need no explanation.

With Jesus possible in GW28 for some minutes I’ve gone for Firmino over Aguero for good fixtures and a guaranteed game in GW31

Wilson is the best of the cheapie strikers still for me.

WHATS MISSING?

No Chelsea defence.  A good fixture next but a couple of tough ones afterwards has stopped me putting Alonso in the team.

No Man Utd attack.  Martial is an option for me maybe squeezed in the midfield with a cheaper defence.

Stoke defence or attack.  They have a good GW31 fixture home to Everton but I’m unsure how much longevity the Lambert bounce has at either end of the pitch.

No Arsenal – tricky fixtures coming.

Potential Blank GW31 watch

Guaranteed GW31

Liverpool – Van Dijk, Firmino and Salah

Watford – no players

Stoke – no players

Everton – Walcott and Pickford

Potential GW31

Huddersfield – no players

Crystal Palace – McArthur (Hennessey but covered by Pickford)

Total 5 + 1 = 6 with 4 transfers still available before GW31.
