fantasy premier league GW28 tips – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Heres our fantasy premier league GW28 tips article where we outline the 5 most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek. I sometimes get some people thinking I pick these but they aren’t my picks they are merely the most transferred in and out this week.

In this article I’ll mention if the player has a blank in GW30 where there are a number of postponed games due to the FA Cup quarters.

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

Rashford

Rashford Man Utd £4.5m fwd ( 1 games 2 goals 1 assists) FPL point 4.8 mins. 1/1    100% consistency % of games that a goal or assist is returned)   n/a FPL points in the last 6 games or n/a returns of a goal or assist.

Hard to make an assessment of an 18 year old based on 1 game in the premier league or 2 1st team games if you count the Europa League game midweek where he scored 2 as well.  Couldn’t have started better though.  No game in GW30.  They also have a confirmed blank in GW35 which is the FA Cup semi weekend as they were scheduled to play West Ham in GW35 who are their  quarter final appointment meaning there is no escape

Watford (H)
West Brom (A)
– Gameweek 30 –
Man City (A)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)

Lukaku

Lukaku Everton £8.7m fwd (26 games 16 goals 5 assists) FPL point 14.6 mins. 14/26 54% consistency last 6 games 18 FPL points 1/6 returns. Has pens

One of the most transferred out last week,  the lure of a game against Villa has turned that around.  Over the season the stats are good but the returns have really dropped off with just a penalty in the last 6 games being the only return. Interesting though the underlying stats in the last 6 are consistent with the season stats which gives hope of an improvement.  No game in GW30

Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
– Gameweek 30 –
Arsenal (H)
Man Utd (A)

Arnautovic

Arnautovic Stoke £6.3m LAM mid (24 games 9 goals 4 assists) FPL point 16.0 mins. 10/24 42% consistency last 6 games 28 FPL points 2/6 returns. Has pens when Bojan off the pitch

2 goals in the last match and Newcastle next is going to be a recipe for transfers in.  If you wanted to put a negative spin on it you could say that he benefitted from luck with Bojan off the pitch for the pen and then a goal off his chest from one of the more bizzare incidents you’ll ever see involving a goal stuck in his own net.  After Newcastle the fixtures are a far tougher and it’s hard to feel that missing the Villa game is a game too late.  He also has little in the way of underlying stats to back up returns.  However he does have some set piece responsibility on the positive side.  Has a fixture in GW30.

Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
Southampton (H)
Watford (A)
Swansea (H)
Liverpool (A)

Fonte

Fonte Southampton £5.5m CB def (27 games 2 goals 0 assists) FPL mins per pts 21.4 (Southampton 27 games 12 clean sheets and 26 goals conceded)

After 6 consecutive clean sheets the wheels came off to a certain extent with 2 goals from Chelsea.  GK Fraser Forster also put his first foot (or hand) wrong since coming back from injury.  It’s hard not to ignore though how they have seemed to be over performing their underlying defensive stats.   Can that be down to the heroics of GK Fraser Forster or is there due to be some regression to a more sustainable rate.  Targett at £3.9m is a very cheap alternative as long as Koeman sticks with 3-5-2 which has been successful. A guaranteed game in GW30.

Bournemouth (A)
Sunderland (H)
Stoke (A)
Liverpool (H)
Leicester (A)
Newcastle (H)

Costa

Costa Chelsea £10.7m fwd (23 games 10 goals 6 assists) FPL point 18.1 mins. 10/23   43% consistency last 6 games 38 FPL points 5/6 returns.

Fantastic recent form since Mourinho left.  Thats backed up by great recent underlying stats.  Norwich next are also a big attraction. No fixture in GW30

Norwich (A)
Stoke (H)
– Gameweek 30 –
West Ham (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Swansea (A)

The Sinking Ships

Ighalo

Ighalo Watford £6.2m fwd (27 games 15 goals 6 assists) FPL point 15.1 mins. 14/27   52% consistency last 6 games 22 FPL points 1/6 returns.

Had good chances to score against Bournemouth and missing those would have been many FPL managers last straw.  At least he had chances though.  After such a great start to the season the returns and the underlying stats have fallen off a cliff.  Man Utd away next is also a good fixture to sell even with the diluted defence.  No game in GW30.

Man Utd (A)
Leicester (H)
– Gameweek 30 –
Stoke (H)
Arsenal (A)
Everton (H)

Kane

Kane Spurs £10.1m fwd (27 games 16 goals 2 assists) FPL point 17.1 mins. 12/27   44% consistency last 6 games 38 FPL points 4/6 returns.

Hard to know what he’s done to deserve this?  May have been topped up by pens but still his recent form has been backed up by some very good underlying stats.  Guaranteed fixture in GW30 too

West Ham (A)
Arsenal (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (H)

Smalling

Smalling Man Utd £6.7m CB def (25 games 0 goals 1 assists) FPL mins per pts 22.5 (Man Utd 27 games 12 clean sheets and 26 goals conceded)

Was supposed to be fit for the GW27 Arsenal game but wasn’t.  No news on whether he will be fit for GW28 at the moment.  2 clean sheets in the last 8 is hardly a great return for the most expensive defender.  No fixture in GW30.

Watford (H)
West Brom (A)
– Gameweek 30 –
Man City (A)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)

Alli

Alli Spurs £6.1m CAM mid (24 games 7 goals 8 assists) FPL point 15.7 mins. 11/24   46% consistency last 6 games 33 FPL points 3/6 returns.

Great value for a CAM in a title challenging team.  Only negative is 1 assist in the last 3 but has still managed to keep up reasonable underlying stats which is a pointer in the right direction.  Is an injury doubt for the next game though

West Ham (A)
Arsenal (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (H)

Johnson

Johnson Stoke £5.1m RB def (25 games 0 goals 3 assists) FPL mins per pts 23.7 (Stoke 27 games 9 clean sheets and 33 goals conceded)

Knee injury with no return date so looks a sell
