Here’s our fantasy premier league GW29 review of Sunday’s games. We concentrate on the key attacking players performance. The games were Middlesboro v Man Utd, Spurs v Southampton and Man City v Liverpool.

So I’m not reviewing any players here. With Ibrahimovic suspended and the continual rotation of players due to the Europa League there’s no other player from Man Utd to consider. With Middlesboro having a new manager and uncertainty of Negredo and Gestede plus Ramirez there also needs a few games to establish a settled lineup
Defences
It was a pretty ordinary defensive performance from both teams although as you can see from the shot map Man Utd prevented Middlesborough far better than the other way round

Blanked 74 mins. CF. One great chance when put through by Eriksen 1 on 1 with the GK from a tight angle. Shot was saved. Apart from that not much success. Hard to say on this performance whether the striking position was a success. However for the price in this team it has to be a positive gamble.
Dele Alli
1 goal. 90 mins. LAM. Goal was a penalty. Alli was constantly in the area looking for chances and had a couple of them. Owners should be optimistic especially if he keeps penalties.
Eriksen
1 goal. 85 mins. RAM. Great goal but as usual from outside the area. Created a couple of chances. Owners should be optimistic
Gabbiadini
Blanked 31 mins. CF. Went off injured early in the game. Can’t really be judged
Tadic
Blanked. 68 mins. CAM. A pretty quiet game and subbed off pretty early. The position handed to him is good but minutes and output were disappointing. Could have earned a penalty though for me.
Redmond
Blanked 79 mins. LAM. An ineffective game playing wide with no goal threat. Hard to be optimistic after this
Defences
Both defences played reasonably well and should be optimistic. Spurs had the clean sheet ruined when Alderweireld inexplicably missed a cross.
MAN CITY 1 LIVERPOOL 1

Aguero
1 goal. 90 mins CF. Scored a great strikers goal after a cross from the right from De Bruyne. Should have won it when skied a volley right at the end. Always a threat. Owners should be optimistic.
Sterling
Blanked. 90 mins. RAM then moved inside after a swap with De Bruyne. Should have had a penalty as was fouled from a yard out for a tap in from a cross. Wasteful in the first half on the right. Had positions to make things happen but his attacking output was disappointing. Hard to know what to make of this performance for the future
De Bruyne
1 assist. Starting as a LCM but moved as an RAM in the 2nd half. Very little shot threat although did hit the post in the 2nd half. In the 2nd half created chances through crosses from the right. Quite an expensive asset though for someone standing out wide crossing the ball. Did have some set piece respeonsibility
Mane
Blanked. 90 mins. RAM. Always looks a pace threat in behind defences. Was unlucky not to score when got beyond Otamendi to go 1 on 1 with the GK. Also had a shot on target blocked by Stones. Overall a performance to be cautiously optimistic over
Firmino
1 assist. 90 mins CF. Got an assist after being fouled for the penalty by Clichy. Had a number of other chances but finishing just wasn’t clinical enough. Owners should be optimistic for the number of chances he had.
Coutinho
Blanked. 72 mins. LAM. Another sub 80 mins substitution. The 3rd consecutive one. Apart from a through ball for Firmino to go 1 on 1 with the GK it was an ineffective performance. Owners will have to be pessimistic.
Defences
A very open attacking game where defences were sacrificed as a result. Probably not a typical encounter on which to judge these defences.
