THE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW29 TRANSFERS

The only player I really considered transferring this week was Holebas.  I can’t see a clean sheet here given that they haven’t had a clean sheet on the road for what seems like forever.  However Holebas does have attacking potential with some set piece responsibility so he’s not the end of the world.  Brunt is another option to get rid of especially after he was on the bench in GW28.  However Pulis talked about rest so I’m taking that on face value.  I also think it’s unlikely McClean can take his place permanently.

Everyone else has reasonable good points prospects.  Mane has a tricky game but thats where Liverpool have excelled.  City having played and lost midweek there could be a worse time to play them.

So in the end I did no transfers.  I do want Jones and Davies in my team.  Or any Spurs defender come to that.  I decided in the end that the flexibility of 2 transfers after the International break was worth holding off for.

TEAM SELECTION

My main team selection dilemma was between Brunt and Holebas for the third defender spot.  Holebas has the easier fixture.  They are also playing a very defensive minded team which helps those prospects.  Holebas also has some set piece responsibility.  However I went for Brunt instead.  I feel that he will come back into the team and he has a reasonable amount of set piece potential.  The hope is that he goes into the attacking midfield 3.  Phillips according to the excellent site Phsyioroom won’t be back this week

On the subs bench I put Holgate behind Holebas.  I don’t see Holgate starting.  Koeman did show that he could surprise us by benching Funes Mori.  However,  Holgate coming back for 3 at the back seems a stretch.  That means my only potential with Holgate is a 1 point sub.

I did think about replacing Fletcher with Fraser of Bournemouth and going all out attack. It didn’t seem worth the loss of flexibility for next week.

So here’s the team:

So a good average distorted by Brunt but a very good median.  All gives hope for the gameweek
