Here’s our fantasy premier league GW29 wildcard tips article where we pretend we are using our wildcard. It gives player suggestions with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek.
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW29 WILDCARD TIPS – THE FFGEEK IMAGINARY WILDCARD
This article brings together the various earlier articles in the week.
Firstly I would say that I wouldn’t wildcard now. I would use my wildcard to maximise the points potential in the double gameweeks coming up. See my article on potential blank and double gameweeks.
This is a short article where I’m pretending I’m using my wildcard to give you player picks with more longevity than the next game. It’s short as there are few stats.
I’ve given links to articles below with all the detailed stats you’ll need if you want to investigate a player in more detail.
In this article there’s some brief narrative on the selection below. There’s stats in the player ranking articles which can be found here using the links below
Player rankings defence and GK
There’s also our fixture ease article which gives player suggestions with good fixtures. You can also see who the popular transfers are in our bandwagons article .
FFGEEK’S IMAGINARY WC TEAM
The team value is around £104.5m. The team has been set up to accommodate a potential blank GW31 on the basis of the free hit not being used.
Stoke v Everton, Liverpool v Watford, Huddersfield v Palace and Bournemouth v WBA are the fixtures for GW31.
STRUCTURE
The structure in this team is flexible with everyone capable of earning points subject to fixtures. There are 9 players for GW31 included.
GKS
I’ve gone for De Gea as GK just for the risk around Man Utd defenders other than the very expensive Valencia. Hennessey is a cheap back up and has a fixture for GW31
DEFENDERS
Here I’ve gone for 3 GW31 players in Robertson, Bauer and Zanka. I’ve continued to back Spurs with Vertonghen as he’s pronounced fit. Simpson is in there due to value and fixtures. I did think long and hard about Ben Mee as well with Everton next to break there recent clean sheet duck.
MIDFIELD
Salah should require no explanation.
Shaqiri is a good bet for GW31 although his next 2 fixtures aren’t great.
Walcott is in for GW31 despite some recent stuttering. I would have preferred Niasse but his early subbing last week slightly spooked me and if I was wildcarding I maybe wary.
David Silva wasn’t in my midfield rankings as I have assumed some personal issues risk but his price and form make him worth a throw of the dice in retrospect. Plus the fact that he hasn’t played consistently recently should give him more future gametime
Eriksen is last on the list due to Spurs having some good short term fixtures
Bournemouth has been hard to accommodate due to selection changes. Stanislas maybe if he play 90 minutes like he finally did against Newcastle
FORWARDS
Kane and Firmino should need no explanation.
Wilson being ineffectual last week and the return to fitness of Defoe have made me slightly wary of him so I’ve gone for the recent form of Mounie. The flexibility in the squad also means that he could be benched easily this weekend away to Spurs
BLANK GW31 WATCH
Liverpool – Robertson, Firmino and Salah
Watford – no players
Stoke – Shaqiri, Bauer
Everton – Walcott
Huddersfield – Mounie, Zanka
Crystal Palace – Hennessey
Bournemouth – no players.
