Here’s part 1 of our article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. Again I’ve tweaked the 10 top managers hoping to find the best 10 I can so the stats are a little different. The 10 managers have only been outside the top 10 once in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine. This is part 1 where we give the team selection information. After the games have completed we will then outline the scores. Again if you’re feeling bad about your scores going in to Sunday you’re not the only one as you will see from the majority of these guys teams

So in the first part of the article I’ll give the FPL managers stats and then outline their teams and structure. When the games end in the gameweek I’ll then make an additional post with their scores. As I said I’ve tweaked the makeup of the 10 to get managers with better stats.
Top 10 FPL managers stats
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,575
2. The top 10 FPL managers have only been out of the top 10k once in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 7 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
4. 4 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100
GK/Defs by player
Huth is owned by 6/10 FPL managers
Coates and Targett are owned by 5/10 FPL managers
Ruddy and Azpilicueta are owned by 4/10 managers
Koscielny, Van Aanholt and Bellerin are owned by 3/10 FPL managers
GK/Defs by team
Sunderland GK/Defs are owned by 9/10 FPL managers
Leicester, Arsenal and Southampton GK/Defs are owned by 8/10 FPL managers
Chelsea GK/Defs are owned by 5/10 FPL managers
Norwich, Man Utd and Liverpool GK/Defs are owned by 4/10 FPL managers
Midfielders
Mane and Hazard are owned by 8/10 FPL managers
Walcott and Ozil are owned by 6/10 FPL managers
Westwood is owned by 3/10 FPL managers
Forwards
Benteke and Rooney are owned by 8/10 FPL managers
Sakho is owned by 5/10 FPL managers
GW2 Captain choice
Benteke was chosen by 8/10 FPL managers
Rooney was chosen by 1 FPL manager
Albrighton (not a misprint) was chosen by 1 FPL manager
Formations
3-4-3 was used by 10/10 FPL managers
How many have used their chips
1 FPL manager has used his wildcard
Transfers
Only 2 FPL managers made transfers. In addition to that 1 used his wildcard
Team structure
Only 5 players over £6.0m are outside the teams of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs. Those are Mane, Lens, A Ayew, Payet and Ritchie. All of these interestingly, apart from Ayew, are teams with good fixtures. Generally the teams had 2 of these players in the front 7.
Generally the teams have played with 1 cheap GK, 2 defenders from the teams above, 4 proper midfielders and 1 £10m + striker (Rooney) plus a mid priced striker (Benteke) and a cheap one (mainly Sakho)
