FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW3 – THE EARLY BANDWAGONS AND SINKING SHIPS

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW3 bandwagons and sinking ships. This is where we look at the 5 most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek. There’s a table of stats on the players and then some narrative on each of the players prospects plus the next 6 fixtures

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW3 – THE EARLY BANDWAGONS AND SINKING SHIPS

Here’s our stats which due to the early part of the season focuses on last seasons stats although we do include the points so far for 16/17. We haven’t put in consistency for the defenders and there’s a couple of players who weren’t in the premier league last season which means there are gaps in the table.

The Bandwagons

Key

FPL pts pm: The minutes it takes a player to take earn an FPL point. The lower the better
Consistency: the % of games that a player gets a goal or assist
Mins per G/A: The amount of minutes played it takes to get a goal or assist
Fixt ease: The rank of easiness of the next 6 and 3 fixtures

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players of the round as of last night

Ibrahimovic

The Man Utd forward scored 2 including 1 penalty to make it 3 goals in his first 2 matches.  Unlike the Bournemouth game these goals came with good underlying stats.  That, his penalty duties and now 52% ownership make him a compelling purchase

Next 6 fixtures:

Hull (A)
Man City (H)
Watford (A)
Leicester (H)
Stoke (H)
Liverpool (A)

Negredo

The Middlesborough striker now has a goal and 2 assists to start his return to the premier league.  Interestingly his shooting stats are poor although he has done well creating chances.  A couple of good fixtures before they get harder

West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Watford (H)

Capoue

Well it’s good to see that people have so little to do with their teams that they can use a transfer on their 5th midfielder.  Thats realistically what Capoue is despite scoring 2 goals in his first 2 games.  Last season he had 1 assist and no goals in 33 games effectively as a CDM.  Over the whole of his career his average is a goal or assist every 700 minutes. The better attacking defenders would hope for better stats.  While his underlying stats to start the season are definitely better than last season his average position certainly isn’t any different.  At the moment he also has a calf injury with no return date

Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Middlesbrough (A)

Aguero

The Man City strikers 2 goals were a relief for those who captained him rather than Ibrahimovic.  Retained penalty duties as well after his 2 penalty misses in Europe.  Great underlying stats and huge ownership.  An essential for me

West Ham (H)
Man Utd (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Swansea (A)
Spurs (A)
Everton (H)

Shaw

The Man Utd left back looked 2nd best compared to Valencia after GW1 with Martial’s wide forward position forcing him back.  What changed I’m not sure but he certainly reversed that position against Southampton and looked a far better attacking threat ending up with an assist for winning the penalty.  Man Utd look like they will gain around 17 clean sheets this season and he looks a good investment

Hull (A)
Man City (H)
Watford (A)
Leicester (H)
Stoke (H)
Liverpool (A)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players of the round as of last night

Payet

Interesting one this.  The West Ham LAM is very highly owned after his Euro and 15/16 season exploits.  However,  he only came on as a sub in GW1 and completely missed the game in GW2 due to a knock.  However Bilic is certainly expecting him to play in GW3 albeit against Man City away.  The fixtures after that are very good so not sure why there’s a panic to sell

Man City (A)
Watford (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
Middlesbrough (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Vardy

With Ibrahimovic getting a mass of transfers in, the Leicester striker with no goals or assists in his first 2 games is a natural sacrifice.  Did have some good chances in the opening game against Hull and was unlucky.  The Arsenal game was tighter though.  Home to Swansea is a game that you wouldn’t generally sell a player before though.

Swansea (H)
Liverpool (A)
Burnley (H)
Man Utd (A)
Southampton (H)
Chelsea (A)

Carroll

Like Payet there was no hint from Bilic that there was any issue with the West Ham before the Sunday.  Why bother having a press conference at all?  I understand the tactical side but why have a  press conference at all then?  September 25 or GW6 is the supposed return date

Man City (A)
Watford (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
Middlesbrough (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Kane

The Spurs striker was stationed behind Janssen in the win against Palace at the weekend and his stats have suffered .  Is that permanent or was it due to Alli having been ill and only coming on as a sub.  Like Vardy though he’s a natural sacrifice for Ibrahimovic who doesn’t come with any issues at the moment.

Liverpool (H)
Stoke (A)
Sunderland (H)
Middlesbrough (A)
Man City (H)
West Brom (A)

Mane

The Liverpool AM didn’t play in the loss to Burnley due to a shoulder injury although he is expected back against Spurs in GW3.  That and the difficult fixture seems to be the reason for transfers out.  Ironically the tougher fixture may suit Liverpools counter attacking/pressing style more than a Burnley type fixture where the other team sits back and concedes possession. Unless you believe that the next 3 fixtures couldn’t be tougher.

Spurs (A)
Leicester (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)
