fantasy premier league – GW30 – 2 to buy, 2 to sell, 2 to hold and 2 differentials

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s a short article to help you with any of your last minute fantasy premier league decisions.   It’s a short punchier article with a few players mentioned and only a short paragraph on each rather than loads of stats.  Detail can be found on most players in the “ones to watch” articles or in the case of sells possibly in my “bandwagons and sinking ships”  article.  The players are meant to be permanent buys not just for GW30.  I’ll try and make it reasonably topical and not add on the extremely obvious.

2 to buy

Lukaku

Scored on his return to the side after injury at West Ham and then again against Arsenal in the FA Cup.  Home to Cardiff he lines up against one of the worst defences in the league.  Also has a DGW31 and now one in DGW34. He has an excellent record on his own ground.

YaYa Toure

With Aguero out injured YYT will take on penalty responsibility.  He’s also been pushed up on the odd occasion by Pellegrini and his consistency makes him a good City candidate.  A DGW 31 plus DGW34 and DGW37 gives him further reason to be purchased.

2 to sell

Adebayor

An injury doubt, Spurs have difficult fixtures going forward and with DGW31 strikers chomping at the bit for our forward place this makes him an ideal time to sell.

Mertesacker

With the tough fixtures to come including a DGW31 involving Chelsea selling Arsenal defensive assets in order to free up cash seems like a good move.  Mertesacker is also extremely expensive at £6.4m

2 to hold

Rooney

Alot of selling going on for some reason here.  I understand there’s alot of competition for striking spots but unless you’ve got 11 lined up for DGW31 then why sell someone who’s just scored and assisted in his last game and was kept in at least his 2nd  best position (I think he’s lethal as an out and out striker)  for 90 minutes.

Lallana

Again quite alot of selling going here.  I realise if you’re using your wildcard this week that he doesn’t have any DGWs but he’s home to Norwich!  This is the team that have conceded the most goals away in the league.  Now is not the time to sell.

2 differentials

Remember they are low ownership differentials for a reason.  They come with risk

Dzeko

6.7% ownership

The Aguero injury isn’t serious and he should be back soon etc etc blah blah.  Last time we heard that he was out for a month.  With Pellegrini playing 2 strikers then Dzeko really seems to have a good chance of starting the DGW31 games.  One of which is home to Fulham.  Thats even before we talk about DGW34 and DGW37.  His £6.6m price tag really gives us a chance to invest in other parts of our sqaud.  It’s true he misses alot of chances and fantasy premier league managers will still be scarred by the miss against Stoke.  However he scores goals because he gets lots of shots.  His shots in the box stats are up there with the best.  Yes he misses chances but there’s nothing wrong with his scoring record

Distin

With DGW31 and 34 plans centered around Baines and Coleman if you need to save some cash Distin at £5.2m compared to £7.4m and £6.6m can give you that opportunity.  He’s totally secure gametimewise and gives you clean sheet coverage at a reasonable price.  Although he’s had no attacking returns this year in the last 7 seasons he’s returned at least once in the season so there could still be something left still.  However  you’ll be hoping that no attacking returns from Coleman since GW19 and no goals from Baines since GW20 are a sign of them tailing off rather than the law of averages waiting to catch up!
