bandwagons and sinking ships, Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW30 article where we outline and give a view on the most transferred in players so far in the gameweek (the bandwagons) and the most transferred out (the sinking ships). There’s a table of stats on each as well as some narrative on their prospects and their upcoming fixtures

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW30 – THE BANDWAGONS AND SINKING SHIPS

Remember were still in the International break with some games to play so any transfer before press conferences on Friday comes with injury risk

THE BANDWAGONS

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek. The fixt ease is for the next 7 and 3 game weeks up to and including GW36. Here’s a link to my fixture ease and  recent double gameweeks article on the subject to explain.

VALENCIA

Man Utd having a double gameweek 34 and another probably in GW37.   The RB is the only player that you think has totally nailed himself into the defensive lineup.  He is also a very attacking full back and also offers additional returns this way.  WBA at home in fantasy premier league GW30 is where Pulis will undoubtedly go with a defensive mindset is a good entry point for Valencia.  The risk is the playing and travelling back from South America with the international break and whether Mourinho will rest him due to this

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

West Brom (H)
Everton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Chelsea (H)
Burnley (A) DGW34
Man City (A) DGW34
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)

LUKAKU

2 late goals against Hull gave the Everton striker a 16 FPL point haul following his 12 points the previous week.   His recent form is incredible backed up by good underlying stats.  Rarely plays less than 90 minutes and this season has brought consistent returns to his game.  No double gameweeks and a couple of tricky fixtures next are the only negatives

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (H)
West Ham (A)
Chelsea (H)
Swansea (A)

JOSH KING

The Bournemouth striker is classified as a midfielder in FPL and that in itself is enough to consider him for your team.  His recent form though including a hat trick in GW28 against West Ham is as good as anyones.  His underlying stats, although nothing special over the entire season, have been good in recent matches as you can imagine.  May have pens although him and Afobe both missed them in GW28.  The negatives are no double gameweeks and the fixtures are terrible

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Southampton (A)
Liverpool (A)
Chelsea (H)
Spurs (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
Sunderland (A)
Stoke (H)

DELE ALLI

Although Spurs have no double gameweeks until the likely DGW37 they have such good fixtures generally that holding or buying their players has the potential to provide good returns.  Dele Alli plays in an advanced midfield position in the 3-4-2-1 formation currently favoured and has a special skill of being in the box at the right time.  He also took the penalty in GW29 in Kane’s absence which was a good sign.  The negatives are probably only that he doesn’t have great underlying stats.  It’s whether that is compensated for by good quality shots from his positioning or whether he will ultimately slow down his returns

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Burnley (A)
Swansea (A)
Watford (H)
Bournemouth (H)
Leicester (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)

COSTA

The Chelsea striker has been the subject of an injury scare in training but that seems to be something and nothing. Has been one of the most consistent returners in FPL if not the most explosive.  Good underlying shooting stats give these returns credibility too.  2 very good fixtures in the next 3 are an attraction.  No double gameweeks until the likely one in DGW37 is the only negative

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Crystal Palace (H)
Man City (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man Utd (A)
Southampton (H)
Everton (A)
Middlesbrough (H)

THE SINKING SHIPS

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  As I said above, the fixt ease is for the next 7 and 3 game weeks up to and including GW36. Here’s a link to my fixture ease and  recent double gameweeks article on the subject to explain.

COLEMAN

The Everton RB is injured and out for the season after a horrific leg break in the game against Wales.  Who will take his place will be interesting and will create some value in the defence.  Probably the best outcome would be for £4.0m Holgate to take his place.  A couple of tricky fixtures next though

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (H)
West Ham (A)
Chelsea (H)
Swansea (A)

KANE

The Spurs striker is injured with no return date at the moment according to the excellent site physioroom.  There is speculation about time frames which could see him back for around GW33.  In GW29 £6.9m FPL midfielder Son HM played striker.  Whether that will continue is yet to be established.

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Burnley (A)
Swansea (A)
Watford (H)
Bournemouth (H)
Leicester (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)

HAZARD

The Chelsea left sided attacking midfielder suffered sales due to an injury which kept him out of GW29. However it now seems that he is likely to be available for fantasy premier league GW30. The injury is probably the reason for sales as he has been one of the few players who has given consistent and explosive returns.  He’s also one of the few FPL midfielders who takes pens.  The only negatives are that the underlying stats don’t really match the returns but he seems to be doing it despite this.  Also Chelsea don’t have a DGW until one likely to be in DGW37.

Crystal Palace (H)
Man City (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man Utd (A)
Southampton (H)
Everton (A)
Middlesbrough (H)

SANCHEZ

Again the sales are likely to be related to his injury in GW29.  The initial view seemed to be that it was serious.  However, Sanchez has now played for Chile during the International break so it seems that it wasn’t as bad as initially thought.  Sanchez is one of the most consistent and explosive midfielders who has regularly played as striker for Arsenal.  Add to that great underlying stats plus the possibility of pens and 2 double gameweeks to come and you have a player you want to buy not sell.  Only negative is the travelling back from South America although hard to believe he won’t start against Man City in fantasy premier league GW30

Fixtures up to and including GW36:

Man City (H)
West Ham (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Middlesbrough (A)
Leicester (H)
Spurs (A)
Man Utd (H)

Add in Southampton (A) most likely GW35/36
