fantasy premier league – GW30 – forwards “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s my fantasy premier league “ones to watch” article for forwards for GW30.  Again I’ve done it in the new format.  As I said in the previous articles, I’ve now based it around a table of key stats to make it easier to follow.  I’ve put a key at the bottom of the table to show what each column represents although they are in the main the previous stats.  Below the table I’ve shown the next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks for each player and given a line or 2 on each specifically commenting on gametime issues.  The table assumes that Aguero is injured and not available after going off with a hamstring problem last night against Barca.

KEY

1.  Rank.  My order of the players with the best at the top based on the stats

2.  Time per fantasy premier league point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of the season.  The lower the better obviously.

3.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist   as a % of games played

4.  Last 5 points:  The total points scored in the last 5 games

5.  Last 5 returns:  The number of times that a player has got a goal or an assist in the last 5 games played

6.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

7.  I’ve also added how many of the top 10 fantasy premier league managers I’ve followed.

1.  Suarez

Just when everyone started doubting him he returned against Southampton with a goal and 2 assists.  Best all round forward able to score and assist goals plus also has direct free kicks in his armoury.  A must have for me

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

Man Utd (A)
Cardiff City (A) DGW31
Sunderland (H) DGW31
Tottenham (H)
West Ham (A)
Man City (H)
Norwich (A)

2.  Sturridge

Relentless consistent scoring.  Able to time runs onto through balls and get into one on ones with the GK.  Hard to ignore with the DGW coming up

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

Man Utd (A)
Cardiff City (A) DGW31
Sunderland (H) DGW31
Tottenham (H)
West Ham (A)
Man City (H)
Norwich (A)

3.  RVP

The price is prohibitive and the body language plus statements in the press very negative.  However stats wise he’s not looking too bad when you look at the 6 or so gameweeks since coming back from injury.  Add in the good fixtures plus the fact he’s got pens and after his excellent free kick at WBA maybe more of those.  Rather restrictive positioning has slowed down assists.  It all depends on whether you think the price and the body language outweigh the continuing good stats.

Next 6 fantasy premier league GWs:

Liverpool (H)
West Ham (A)  DGW31
Man City (H)  DGW31
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
– Gameweek 34 –
Everton (A)

4.  Rooney

Hopefully his last 2 excellent performances behind the striker have put to bed any ridiculous notion that he should be playing the Paul Scholes quarterback midfield role.  Has had Pens taken by RVP and set pieces diluted by Mata but still has the ability to return well given the good fixtures on the way

Next 6 fantasy premier league GWs:

Liverpool (H)
West Ham (A)  DGW31
Man City (H)  DGW31
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
– Gameweek 34 –
Everton (A)

5.  Lukaku

Has let down a number of people when given the captains armband against lesser opposition which has tainted him a little.  Still a very talented forward who will be one of the worlds best strikers at some stage.  Still shown good returns and consistency though and a good alternative with good fixtures for the expensive strikers above

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

Cardiff City (H)
Swansea (H) DGW31
Newcastle (A)  DGW31
Fulham (A)
Arsenal (H)
Sunderland (A)
Man Utd (H)

6.  Remy

Is an injury doubt but expected to be back for GW30.  The main goalscoring threat for Newcastle and doesn’t seem to have been phased by the loss of Cabaye.  An excellent finisher.  Should take pens now that Cabaye has gone.

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

Fulham (A)
Crystal Palace (H)  DGW31
Everton (H)  DGW31
Southampton (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke City (A)
Swansea (H)

7.  Dzeko

A couple of big assumptions could make Dzeko a viable option going forward.  If Aguero is injured and if Pellegrini continues to use 2 strikers then there are real gametime prospects.  Alot of  people will be tainted by that miss of the season candidate against Stoke but the facts are that his returns are pretty good.  It’s all about gametime risk.  However the price at £6.6m is very cheap and good compensation for that

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

Hull City (A)
Fulham (H) DGW31
Man Utd (A)  DGW31
Arsenal (A)
Southampton (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Brom (H)

8.  Giroud

An Arsenal forward with the attacking midfield talent behind for £8.6m?  You think he would be nailed on for everyone’s fantasy premier league team.  The problem is his finishing  just isn’t what it should be. Can be a frustrating figure brought under the microscpe due to the number of Arsenals televised games.  Has the ability to get big hauls, just requires patience.  Whether now with the difficult fixtures is the time to buy him is questionable

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

Tottenham (A)
Chelsea (A)  DGW31
Swansea (H)  DGW31
Man City (H)
Everton (A)
– Gameweek 34 –
Hull City (A)

9.  Bony

Had a few troubles adjusting to the premier league after coming from the Dutch League but now started 10 consecutive games and looks a real finisher.  Also has pens.  Downside is the difficult DGW31 and fixtures generally

Next 6 fantasy premier league gameweeks:

West Brom (H)
Everton (A)  DGW31
Arsenal (A)  DGW31
Norwich (H)
Hull City (A)
Chelsea (H)
Newcastle (A)

10.  Carroll

Has only just come back into the side after injury and is yet to play more than 63 minutes.  However is a menace and has a team totally set up to get the best out of him.  Will score and assist, it’s just a fitness gamble

Stoke City (A)
Man Utd (H) DGW31
Hull City (H) DGW31
Sunderland (A)
Liverpool (H)
– Gameweek 34 –
Crystal Palace (H)

11.  Jelavic

A player who makes alot of chances and gets in alot of shots, just not that efficient at converting.  Desperate to make Croatia’s world cup squad so will give 100% every game.  Come from limited gametime at Everton and not eligible for the FA Cup will make him fresh for the rest of the season.  It’s just whether he can convert the chances he makes for himself.  Good DGW fixtures.
