fantasy premier league – GW30 – my imaginary wildcard

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my fantasy premier league imaginary wildcard for GW30 to give you some ideas for DGW31.  It assumes Aguero is injured and a value of roundabout £107m.for

Here’s the full team with some explanatory notes underneath each person.  You can get full details and stats  on all the players in my “ones to watch” articles for all positions

Mannone

Sunderland may not have the greatest defensive record, albeit Poyet has improved it greatly.  However,  with a double gameweek 31 coming up and another 2 postponed games there’s plenty of save points there if nothing else.

Adrian

A reasonable double gameweek plus the most clean sheets equal with Chelsea makes Adrian a good prospect home or away at a reasonable price

Kolarov

He may not have the greatest gametime security but even off the bench he is lethal and often coming on in a LWM position.  The need for rotation with City out of all competitions apart from the premier league has diminished and Kolarov seems the favoured LB at City.  He’s also probably the most lethal attacking defensive player in fanatsy premier league helped by Silva contiually tucking into make space for him.  Great value and worth the gametime risk for me.

Coleman

No attacking returns since GW19 but still very forward thinking and part of a strong Everton defence that has provided 11 clean sheets this season.

Terry

The best defensive choice in the best defensive team.  Looks the most threatening at set pieces although Ivanovic has the best underlying stats.  Far better at collecting bonus points though than Ivanovic.  Has some rotation risk but has yet to be rested in the premier league

Chambers

Looked one of the bargains of the season at £3.9m in the Southampton defence having started 12 of the last 15 games.  Last week though dropped against Crystal Palace so this is a gamble that he will get his place back.  Pocettino has done this before and restored him to the team subsequently.  Home to Norwich is a good place to gameble though

Rosenior

Picking a defender in the Hull defence apart from Davies and Figueroa is a difficult thing at the moment with the rotating of Bruce and Chester.  Rosenior has started 5 of the last 7 and seems to fit within the 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 systems that Bruce operates.  It is a gamble though and Figueroa and Davies are the safest choice at more money.

Hazard

If there’s one person to hold over the DGW31 period then it’s Hazard.  High ownership and the ability to score big while currently being in excellent form isn’t the recipe for a sale.  Especially as most people will take a bath on the sale and buy back price.

Sterling

Excellent DGW31 fixtures coming up.  Was on the bench for the Saints game although  started 15 games before that so probably not a precedent for more bench time. Great  value  given his advanced attacking position in the free scoring Liverpool side.

YYT

Very consistent scorer who will pick up pens in Aguero’s absence.  Also seems to have got Pellegrinis blessing to move forward at specific times adding to his already box to box scoring ability.  Hasn’t shown the deadly free kicks recently but still in his locker.

Lallana

In the side as home to Norwich really isn’t the time to sell.  Flip to Mata or Nolan for DGW31

Colback

Assuming you’ll play Hazard in DGW31 then Colback is the cheapest mid with gametime security and will benefit from the 2 postponed games.

Lukaku

Could easily be Rooney or Dzeko but Lukaku just squeezes it for the value elsewhere he creates.  Returned with a bang getting the winner in the home game to West Ham.

Sturridge

Cant stop scoring this season.  Has developed into a lethal finisher.

Suarez

The best all round forward.  Able to do it all, finish, create chances for others, free kicks, drop off and go past people.  A must have.  Returned with a goal and 2 assists against Saints after some had started to doubt him.
