fantasy premier league GW30 – our imaginary wildcard

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW30 imaginary wildcard where we outline how we would use a wildcard if we were to do so.  With a double gameweek 31 and 34 coming up it’s not the time now to use a wildcard but it does give a longer view of players than just 1 gameweek

So I’ll show the team and then talk in brief about my selections.  Unfortunately this week I’ve been unable to do the usual “ones to watch ” articles due to time spent on articles for DGW31 so I’ll try and give more info than normal

Firstly here’s the team

The Goalkeepers

I’ve chosen QPRs Green for the double gameweek for save points only in DGW31 where he has a double. QPR have the lowest number of clean sheets in 5 for the season and only had 1 clean sheet away all season.  The other GK I’ve chosen is Leicesters Schwarzer who has a fixture in GW33 and a DGW34 confirmed double gameweek.  He has some gametime risk though with Schmeicel back and Hamer also as an option.

Defence

I’ve gone for Chelsea’s Terry, Arsenals £4.6m Bellerin and Southamptons £4.7m Alderweireld as the value core of my defence.  Southampton and Chelsea have the best clean sheet record with 13 this season and the best underlying defensive stats.  Arsenal maybe behind Liverpool  in clean sheets but Bellerin is excellent value and has potential for a double gameweek 34.

The other 2 defensive players are WBAs Dawson  who at £4.5m is the cheapie in Tony Pulis’ defensive revolution which has seen 6 clean sheets in 9 games.  Naughton is another cheapie at £4.3m.  Swansea despite not having great defensive stats have good fixtures and the ability to get clean sheets none the less with 10 clean sheets the same as Arsenal and Man Utd.

Midfield

I’m still in the hold Sanchez camp.  He undoubtedly has been playing wider which hasn’t helped but has still had the shooting opportunities and with Newcastle and Burnley away in the next 2 plus the potential for a DGW34 I’m still holding.

Hazard is essential full stop.

Mane with good fixtures and Burnley next could add to his goal and assist in the last 2 so is my choice there.  I’ve held on to Eriksen despite only 1 assist in his last 6 purely for fixtures with Leicester, Burnley and Villa in the next 3.

Then I’ve gone for 1 of my 2 DGW31 players in Villas Sinclair who goes to his old club Swansea with alot to prove and 1 goal in 4 since coming back into the side.  He does play in an advanced midfield position and does have FPL positive history.

Forwards

People may doubt Aguero but such is his leading and active player ownership, sheer class and captain material that there’s no way he’s going just yet.  Kane is also in fantastic form.  I’ve chosen Charlie Austin as opposed to Benteke for his season consistency for the third spot.

Double gameweeks watch

I’ve got 3 DGW31 players in Green, Sinclair and Austin.

I’ve got 5 potential GW33 blank players in the team 1 of which is a GK who has his own bench spot.  That means that after DGW31 I have 2 transfers to ensure I can have 3 DGW34 on the bench.  At the moment Bellerin and Sanchez don’t have GW33 fixtures and a potential DGW34.  Austin and Sinclair also have blanks in GW33 without a DGW34 and need transferring out after DGW31

Hope that helps your thought process for the weeks ahead
