fantasy premier league GW30 wildcard tips – the FFGeek imaginary wildcard

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW30 wildcard tips article where we pretend we are using our wildcard. It gives player suggestions with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek.  There’s also a GW31 “free hit” team to use as a menu for blank GW31 players

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW30 WILDCARD TIPS – THE FFGEEK IMAGINARY WILDCARD

This article brings together the various earlier articles in the week.

Firstly I would say that I wouldn’t wildcard now. I would use my wildcard to maximise the points potential in the double gameweeks coming up. See my article on potential blank and double gameweeks.

The article is short and there are no stats.  I’ve given links to articles below with all the detailed stats you’ll need if you want to investigate a player in more detail.

There’s stats in the player ranking articles which can be found here using the links below

There’s also our fixture ease article which gives player suggestions with good fixtures. You can also see who the popular transfers are in our bandwagons article .

The GW31 “Free Hit” chip  team

There are so many variations of what chips FPL managers could have left that I decided to do 2 teams this week.  The firrst would be a “free hit” type team of just GW31 players.  Obviously this would be used for GW31 not GW30 and is just to give you a menu of GW31 players.  The team used no where near the rather low team value of around £102m

So there are 3 Liverpool players,  3 Crystal Palace,  2 Stoke, Everton, Bournemouth and Huddersfield players, 1 of WBA and none of Watford.

There aren’t any particular surprises.  I put McArthur in for a cheap £4.5m ish player to give an example but in reality you could afford more.  Zaha if he was fit would be an obvious target.

 IMAGINARY WILDCARD TEAM

This is an imaginary wildcard team which assumes you free hit in GW31 so doesn’t accommodate for GW31 blanks at all.  Again it’s just for illustration.  I wouldn’t wildcard now as I said above.  I would wildcard in GW32/33 and use my free hit in 35.

This team below assumes the following:

A free hit chip used in GW31.  Therefore you have no free hit for GW35

The quarter finals of the FA Cup are won by Southampton, Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea leaving the fixtures as below after FA Cup related postponements  (ignore the green) and outlined in my double gameweeks article.  The fixtures in italics are the assumed placings of the postponed games.

Here’s the team.  It is a first go and there’s hours of tinkering to go.  It does show the difficulty without the free hit in GW35 to balance out getting players who have  2 games in 34 and 37 fixtures without sacrificing 35

The above team has 10 players with doubles in 34 and 37 but only 5 players in GW35,  4 of which had doubles in 34.  Salah is the exception.  Going into 35 with 2 frees would bring it up to 7 but again that’s not much of a total.  Not sure I’ve got the balance right just yet.

The issue is around the 3 main GW35 teams of Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal. Liverpool don’t have a double in 34 but have a great fixture. Man City could have the league wrapped up by then and the team could have Foden as captain and  Zinchenko as vice given the focus that will be on the UCL.  A similar position could be the case for Arsenal who maybe concentrating on the Europa League especially given their away win at AC Milan tonight.  That leaves West Ham, Newcastle, Burnley and Swansea to pick from who have games in GW35 and doubles in 34.  Hardly tempting.

Aubameyang is an obvious target as he can’t play in the Europa League.  However he is a budget breaker which is why I had to take him out.

You can see why at the moment I’m planning on free hitting in GW35.  My other team without the free hit is going to be more problematic.

Remember this is all theoretical and depending on my quarter final results assumptions.  That’s why this is an imaginary wildcard.

Hope you at least found it interesting and if I’ve got anything wrong please tell me in the comments column.
