FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW30 WILDCARD TIPS – OUR IMAGINARY WILDCARD

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW30 wildcard tips where we pretend we have a wildcard to use. It gives player tips for the upcoming gameweek with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW30 WILDCARD TIPS – OUR IMAGINARY WILDCARD

So firstly I’m personally not planning on using the wildcard just yet.  There is however alot of debate about this.  It’s definitely true that we do know the double gameweek fixtures to come and can make an educated assumption as to when.  At this stage of the season we also probably know the players that we want in those teams.  All good reasons.  However for me the plan to wildcard the week before the potential DGW and then use the bench boost gives a more tangible reward than doing it now and minimises the injury risk and selection risk.  It isn’t an exact science though and I wouldn’t criticise anyone for wildcarding now

The imaginary wildcard team fits within my £102.6m budget with £0.9m left over for a Costa to Ibra switch

DEFENCE AND GK

I debated alot about whether to go for Man Utd GK De Gea or their RB Valencia or even both.  In the end I decided that De Gea was the less rotatable as it seems feasible that Romero could keep going in the Europa League.  To me there’s a difference bewteen having an injured Coleman in your team and needing someone to replace him with and having a wildcard to optimise your team in full.

I stuck with Pickford for value and because he’s cheap and probably also has a DGW 37.

In defence I’ve gone for DGW34 players Fabio and Yoshida. I’m a little worried about the longevity of Fabio but at this moment he’s the best choice given £4.9m for Gibson just doesn’t seem value.  Yoshida is also due to budgeatary concerns.  I’d much rather spend the cash on Cedric or Bertrand but just not feasible for my team value.

The potential DGW37 defenders are Alonso , Vertonghen and Stones.  Chelsea LWB Alonso is the best attacking defender in the best defence for me.  Spurs CB Vertonghen has little attacking potential but is cheaper than either Alderweireld or Walker.  LWB Davies is even cheaper but will be replaced by Rose who should be back by at least GW33.  I’ve also reverted back to Stones.  There are alot of positive stats on the Man City defence despite some of their shambolic displays.  CB Stones price makes him worth the gamble notwithstanding this and the rotation risk.

MIDFIELD

With potential double gameweeks in GW35/36 and DGW37 I’ve gone for the Southampton double of Ward Prowse and Tadic.  They also have very good short term fixtures.  With the same double gameweek potential there is Arsenal but for the moment I’ve just stuck with Sanchez.  The Arsenal defence is over priced for me.  Ospina in Cech’s injury absence has some attraction but he’s scheduled to be back for GW33 which makes him a non starter.

Alli is there for the potential DGW37 and some excellent fixtures to come.  Pedro the same and is a substitute for the much more expensive Hazard.

FORWARDS

Costa is the captain favourite it seems for this weekend so is a good place to start.  I’ve left £0.9m in the bank for a straight swap to Ibrahimovic for the next gameweek when he’s back from suspension

Lukaku is there purely on form.  He can also be a good placeholder for Kane in case he comes back early enough for the good fixture run of Spurs.  Lastly and definitely least is Ashley Barnes.  There totally for the value and the last picked in the team.  I would pick £4.7m Middlesborough forward Stuani for the DGW34 but he was left out of the last lineup by the new manager so too risky this week
