Fantasy Premier League

With time not on my side this week here’s the FFGeek team for GW32.  We’ll talk through the transfer decisions, team selection and the captain selection.

So the transfer is a surprising one, Austin out and Giroud in.  Surprising in that Arsenal have a blank in GW33.  The team is below before I discuss it in more detail

The transfer

Firstly I’m carrying 2 transfers so I had to use 1.  The news that Hull v Liverpool will be set up a DGW34 for both those teams in addition to Chelsea and Leicester means that I will use my Wildcard for DGW34.  In addition carrying 2 transfers means that even with 4 players having blanks in GW33 (Giroud, Sanchez, Bellerin and Van Aanholt) means I should be ok to put out a full team for GW33.  Having the wildcard for DGW34 means using both transfers wont prejudice me and gives me more transfer freedom.

In terms of the transfer Austin at home to Chelsea was the main option to ditch.  Remy away to QPR  and Sturridge home to Newcastle were my only other options apart from Giroud.  Sturridge I didn’t like the  injury and gametime risk especially after Sturridge played 85 minutes in the FA Cup midweek.  Remy was pretty much a toss up with Giroud but in the end I went for Giroud.  If I didn’t have my wildcard I probably would have gone for Remy to allow me to preserve 2 transfers for DGW34

The Team selection

Not that many decisions to make.  The front 3 were always going to start as were the midfield 3 of Hazard, Eriksen and Sanchez.  Terry and Alderweireld were also always going to start and Bellerin away to Arsenal was definitely starting.

That leaves a straight choice between Van Aanholt and Puncheon.  Last week I chose Van Aanholt which in the end only cost me 1 point but this week I think Palace will score having got 10 in their last 5 games so I’ve gone for Puncheon.

The Captain

Happy with my ranking at the moment I’ve taken the safe choice of captain of Harry Kane.  The only other choices were Hazard and Giroud.  Burnleys 2 clean sheets against City and Spurs doesn’t really make me look at Giroud.  Hazard was a close choice but a little risky given that the popular choice seems to be Kane

Thats it good luck for the gameweek
