FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW32 REVIEW – SUNDAY AND MONDAYS GAMES

At the end of the commentary on players I’ve put either optimistic or pessimistic. Thats a statement to owners holding those players on that performance only. It doesn’t take into account future gametime prospects or fixtures coming up or previous form. It’s only a comment on that performance and how it should affect their view of that player

EVERTON 4 LEICESTER 2

This is the shot map also from 11tgen11

Lukaku

2 goals.  90 minutes.  Only really had a couple of chances and buried both.  Deadly.  Optimistic

Barkley

1 assist 90 minutes.  Played very forward and often close to Lukaku.  Great cross for the first Lukaku goal.  Should really have scored when put through inadvertently by a Davies tackle. Optimistic

Vardy

1 assist  60 minutes.  Got an assist but very quiet.  Shouldn’t be judged on this performance as the Leicester team was below strength for the UCL game on Wednesday

Defences

The game was dominated by Everton shot numerically and quality wise.  However the Leicester back only contained 1 player that would start in a first team selection.  They were especially terrible on set pieces.

SUNDERLAND 0 MAN UTD 3

Ibrahimovic

1 goal.  1 assist.  His ability to shoot from distance means he doesn’t always need spot on service to score.  This was such an occasion with a great shot from outside the area scoring.  Didn’t really have a huge amount of chances though.  Ability to hold the ball aup and play others in mean it’s no surprise that only Costa has more assists as a striker in FPL  Optimistic

Defoe

Blanked.  90 minutes.  Blanked but not through lack of trying.  Came close once from distance but best chance was when came close from an offside position.  Unfair to judge him when half a game Sunderland had 10 men

Defence

The game was distorted by the sending off so hard to judge each defence due to this

CRYSTAL PALACE 3 ARSENAL 0

Zaha

2 assists.  87 minutes.  A fantastic performance.  Does play quite wide which makes him more of an assist threat than a goal scorer.  However always advanced and usually the the midfielder who is best placed for the counter attack.  A big plus in a defensive based Big Sam team.  This was a typical performance where his goal threat wasn’t strong but he created a good number of chances.  Optimistic

Benteke

Blanked 90 minutes.  If you don’t return as a striker when your team scores 3 then there’s something wrong.  He did have a couple of chances and came close.  However praise was mainly in leading the line and holding the ball up.  Big negative though when the Serbian CDM took the penalty though.  These now seem gone.  Pessimistic

Sanchez

Blanked.  90 mins.  Again played wide left which in itself is a big negative.  However he does roam around alot which does mitigate that to some extent.  I thought he had a good first half with 2 really good chances to score.  On another day this may have got a return but this was anything other than Arsenals day.  Got dragged down by what was an absolutely pitiful 2nd half performance by Arsenal and was really a shocked bystander.  Hard to be anything other than pessimistic after this.

Walcott

Blanked. 68 minutes.  Did absolutely nothing.  Hugely disappointing.  Pessimistic

Ozil

Blanked.  90 minutes.  To think the West Ham performance was a corner turned? How wrong was that.  The pass and position map just doesn’t do justice to how deep he seemed to be most of the time.  For a guy of his natural talent to not have a shot or create a chance in 90 minutes against a side in the position Palace are is just criminal.  Pessimistic doesn’t even half cover it.

Defences

No Dann, No PVA, No Tomkins.  No problem.  The Palace defence was fantastic.  I don’t want to use the word pitiful for Arsenal again but thats what it was
