fantasy premier league GW33 – “ones to watch” midfielders over £6.0m

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s my fantasy premier league GW33 midfielders over £6m.  In case you haven’t seen it before,  I’ve based it around a table of key stats to make it easier to follow.  Ive put a key at the bottom of the table to show what each column represents although they are in the main the previous stats.  Below the table I’ve shown the next  fantasy premier league fixtures for each player to the end of the season and given a line or 2 on each.

 KEY

1.  Rank.  My order of the players with the best at the top based on the stats

2.  Time per fantasy premier league point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of the season.  The lower the better obviously.

3.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist   as a % of games played

4.  Last 5 points:  The total points scored in the last 5 games

5.  Last 5 returns:  The number of times that a player has got a goal or an assist in the last 5 games played

6.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

7.  I’ve also added how many of the top 10 fantasy premier league managers I’ve followed.

1.  YYT

A quiet GW32 where he restricted his movement forward to concentrate on defensive duties more than usual.  Consistent performer who has pen duties while Aguero is injured.  Also getting pushed up in latter parts of games behind the striker.  At  46% the highest % owned midfielder and a likely captain option for DGW34 if Aguero is injured.  A must have at the moment as will kill your ranking if you don’t and he returns.

Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

2.  Silva

Scored the sort of lucky goal from a follow up which has been eluding him for most of the season.  Has the best overall shooting and creating chances stats of any midfielder and maybe the 2 goals in the last 3 games are the law of averages catching up with him.  Playing behind the striker has taken his game to another level and given him far more quality opportunities.  Hard not to own with DGW34 and DGW37 coming up for City.

3.  Hazard

2nd highest % owned midfielder with 40% ownership.  Capable of big scores at anytime.  Has some gametime risk while Chelsea still in the champions league.  Good fixtures at the end of the season will make him difficult to own

Fantasy premier league fixtures to the end of the season:
Stoke City (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Liverpool (A)
Norwich (H)
Cardiff City (A)

4.  Gerrard

Couldn’t have had a quieter match from an attacking point of view against Spurs if he tried.  Didn’t have a shot or create a single chance.  Coutinho continued on corners and didn’t get a look in on direct free kicks.  Ironically Henderson scored from what would have been an ideal Gerrard free kick position.  The diamond formation will continue to limit him to free kicks and penalties.  Also on 9 yellow cards so needs to get through to GW35 before being booked again.

Fantasy premier league fixtures to the end of the season:
West Ham (A)
Man City (H)
Norwich (A)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Newcastle (H)

5.  Lallana

Returned in last 2 games spectacularly after 4 games blanking.  Needs some partience as can go on 3/4 games without returning but great value. 3rd highest owned midfielder with 32% ownership which will hurt your ranking if you don’t own him and he returns.  You probably noticed this in GW32 if you don’t own him.  Plays in an advanced position and at the heart of every attack for Southampton.  Great understanding with Lambert and Rodriguez as well.

Newcastle (H)
Man City (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)

6.  Schurrle

With Palace dropping deep and narrow Chelsea and Schurrles counter attacking skills were nullified in GW32.  The ability to press and take possession off the opposition high up the pitch was also nullified as Palace looked totally uninterested in any short passing or holding the ball at the back.  However 38 points in the last 5 games is hard to ignore even though it was based around 2 games.  Gametime is the risk though. Even though Ramires and Salah have played in the attacking 3 midfielders it’s essentially a  battle between Schurrle, Willian and Oscar for 2 spots.   Schurrle has started 4 of the last 6.  Fixtures are good and the price a bargain.  It’s just the gametime risk.

Fantasy premier league fixtures to the end of the season:
Stoke City (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Liverpool (A)
Norwich (H)
Cardiff City (A)

7.  Oscar

Struggled like everyone else against Palace although did set up a number of chances.   Subbed after 50 minutes though.  However Oscar has started 7 of the last 8 he hasn’t played more than 78 minutes in 6 of them.  Gametime is the big risk.   Even though Ramires and Salah have played in the attacking 3 midfielders it’s essentially a  battle between Schurrle, Willian and Oscar for 2 spots.

As a number 10 who knows where the goal is with good upcoming fixtures he’s an attractive position especially given his returns although they are a little articificial due to being subbed often.  He’s sporadic rather than consistent and has gametime risk.  It depends on whether you think the position and the returns are worth the gametime and subbing risk.

Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke City (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Liverpool (A)
Norwich (H)
Cardiff City (A)

8.  Eriksen

Again Eriksen, the only creative Spurs midfielder,  was played on the wing. Chadli, a winger, was played in the centre of midfield.  A ludicrous situation which meant that Eriksen’s lack of defensive skills were exposed on a number of occasions, most notably on the first goal when he didn’t track Johnson effectively.  It also meant that when he drifted inside to try and effect the game that Sterling and Johson made mincemeat of poor Danny Rose outnumbering him on a number of occasions.  Bentaleb was also expected to do far too much defensive work and couldn’t cover either.   Eriksen was the one player who deserved some credit from an attacking point of view from Spurs.  However although his returns are good again he requires alot of patience and his returns have dipped with only 1 in his last 5 games.

Fantasy premier league fixtures to the end of the season:

Liverpool (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Fulham (H)
Stoke City (A)
West Ham (A)
Aston Villa (H)

9.  Nasri

Started the last 5   However only completed 90 minutes once in his last 10 starts. Good returns though and a cheaper alternative to Silva although only by £1.3m.   Has some gametime risk in that he will again be competing with Navas if Pellegrini returns to 2 strikers when and if  Aguero returns

10.  Johnson

On the subs bench again last night but again came on and returned through a goal plus chamnged the game.  There’s no doubt a sub appearance for DGW34  and DGW37 isn’t ideal but he is the best attacking force in the Sunderland team when on form.  Youre banking on him forcing his way back into the team and showing the form that he evry sporadically has done this  year.  A big gamble but to DGWs is a good place to gamble.

11.  Mata

Finally returned big scoring although it was his only shot.  Like Silva gets more quality opportunities playing behind Rooney.  Kagawa playing and them interchaging positions also makes Mata less predictable.  Good fixtures and playing in a good position behind Rooney but still a leap of faith.
