At the end of the commentary on players I’ve put either optimistic or pessimistic. Thats a statement to owners holding those players on that performance only. It doesn’t take into account future gametime prospects or fixtures coming up or previous form. It’s only a comment on that performance and how it should affect their view of that player

Kane
1 goal 1 assist. 78 mins. Was fantastic and it could have been so much more as he missed some decent chances in this game. Optimistic
Son HM
1 goal. 90 mins. Another fantastic performance. Smart finish for the goal. Always a threat and had a number of other chances to score. Should have at least had an assist when Eriksen blasted over from close range. Optimistic
Eriksen
1 assist. 86 mins. Got the assist for the Dembele goal from a corner. Had 3 great chances to score though and owners will be disappointed not to have got more. Optimistic
Alli
1 assist. 83 mins. Fairly nothing assist which was just a pass to Kane who had his back to goal. Was pretty quiet considering the massacre this game was. Didn’t really have a clear cut chance. What he does do though is consistently get into the area and that means he will score goals even when quiet. Optimistic
King
Blanked. 90 mins. 1 shot was about it. That was more danger to the pigeons than anything else. Can’t be judged on this game
Afobe
Blanked. 76 mins. Got close to a Stanislas cross but apart from that did nothing. Can’t be judged on this game
Defences
For a manager to be held in such high regard when he presides over a defence like this is a mystery to me. Bournemouth were nothing short of awful. 23 shots with an XG of 2.71. It doesn’t get any worse than that. If Kane and Eriksen had finished better it literally could have been any score. Francis at CB was absolutely hopeless and responsible for 2 goals. Cook wasn’t much better and equally at fault with the first goal. Spurs never gave Bournemouth a sniff.
C Palace 2 Leicester 2
Zaha
Blanked 83 mins. Not really that many chances apart from one miscued effort close in. Although advanced plays quite wide so a predominantly assist based player. Pessimistic
Benteke
1 goal. 90 mins. Goal was a powerful header with Benteke at his best. Had at least 3 good chances 2 he put straight at the GK. A really good performance. Optimistic
Vardy
1 goal. 90 mins. Great counter attack goal which was Leicester of last season. That was the sum total of his day though. Otherwise did nothing. Pessimistic
Mahrez
1 assist. 74 mins. Got the assist with the through ball to Vardy but that was it. Like Vardy did nothing. Pessimistic
Defences
Don’t be fooled by the 2 goal score line this was a good Palace defensive performance ruined by a stupid goal from a throw in by Huth and a classic counter. However Leicester were kept very quiet. 6 shots and an XG of 0.4 is a great defensive result. Leicester were very lucky to get away with a very ordinary defensive performance
Everton 3 Burnley 1
Lukaku
1 goal. 90 minutes. The game was just shooting practice for him. His spin and turn to be Keane (who’s no mug) and then score said it all. Optimistic
Barkley
1 assist. 89 minutes. Lost the goal due to deflections from his shot. Played right and advanced and close to Lukaku. Shot have got another assist when put Mirallas through. Again the game was a bit like shooting practice. Optimistic
Mirallas
Blanked. 75 minutes. How he blanked is beyond me. Had so many chances including hitting the post. Also put through and shot at the GK. A big attacking threat though and was unlucky. Optimistic
Barnes
Blanked. 82 mins. Did nothing. Shouldn’t be judged on this game.
Defences
The Burnley defence had only given up 3 goals once in 6 games against the top sides but this was a siege. 29 shots is incredible. Everton defended reasonably well and were only let down by some ridiculous goal keeping which saw Robles foul Vokes for the penalty for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Stoke 3 Hull 1
Arnautovic
1 goal 1 assist. 90 mins. A great performance even if the assist was just a sideways pass for the Shaqiri stunner. Had a number of really good chances and was always very advanced. Optimistic
Grosicki
Blanked. 90 minutes. 1 chance when got away from the defence to shoot on the angle but that was about it. Pessimistic
Defences
Hull didn’t defend well at all which seems to be a pattern away from home. Stoke were ok.
Sunderland 2 West Ham 2

Blanked 90 mins. Didn’t get a sniff. Pessimistic
Khazri
1 goal. 90 mins. First time he’s started since GW10. Impressive performance. Scored direct from a corner. Good set piece representation. Very advanced and had lots of shots (albeit mostly from distance) and created alot of chances. Optimistic
Carroll
1 assist. 90 mins. Assist was from a mishit. Despite Bilic’s words played the 90 mins. Didn’t make much impression. Pessimistic
Defences
Sunderland should be reasonably pleased. Anytime you only allow 7 shots even with a relatively high XG it’s good news. An ok defensive performance from West Ham
Watford 1 Swansea 0
Deeney
Blanked. 90 mins. Had 1 chance from a Janmaat cross but was very quiet. Pessimistic
Sigurdsson
Blanked. 90 mins. Blanked not through want of trying. It was like a 1 man rescue mission going on. He had some reasonable chances too. It wasn’t a Coutinho shoot from half way fest at all. He was put through at one stage but just couldn’t get the shot away. Optimistic
Llorente
Blanked. 80 mins. Was poor and surprised he lasted 80 mins. Had 1 good chance from a cross but he surprisingly fluffed the header. Pessimistic
Defences
Another good defensive performance from Watford. It’s now 3 consecutive home clean sheets. The shot and XG number in this is pretty good. Considering the Watford team isn’t the most dangerous attacking unit a pretty poor performance from Swansea. The Mawson mistake for the goal was horrible and not his only 1 in recent weeks
Southampton 0 Man City 3
Tadic
Blanked. 90 mins. Pretty quiet. 1 shot blasted high over the bar from a Gabbiadini cross. Another cross to Yoshida who headed straight at Bravo but other wise quiet. Good set piece involvement. Pessimistic
Redmond
Blanked. 90 mins. Did nothing. Pessimistic
Ward Prowse
Blanked. 59 mins. Did nothing. Some set piece involvement. Pessimistic
Gabbiadini
Blanked. 59 mins. Coming back from injury so being substituted wasn’t a surprise. No attacking output apart from the cross for Tadic. Unfair to judge this performance after injury.
Aguero
1 goal. 88 mins. Played well and had a reasonable amount of chances. Should have got an assist when Silva blasted over from his cross close in. Optimistic
De Bruyne
2 assists. 90 mins. 2 great assists for the Sane and Aguero goal. Did get forward alot but £10.4m is alot for someone who relies heavily on assists and plays this wide. Also is the right flank being shared now between him and Sterling? The performance would make owners optimistic but gametime needs monitoring.
Sane
1 goal. 85 mins. Neat finish on the breakaway. Started the last 11 now. Could have had a much debated penalty call. Didn’t really have that much attacking output though
Defences
A fantastic defensive performance from Man City. Kompany made such a difference. Southampton couldn’t handle City at all.
